@Nick
You are right, if MS helped Yu with the Kickstarter and funded the game. They would get the same flack as Sony is getting right now but you would be on the opposite end of it too. lol!
@3-4-5
We have game journalist? I thought Kotaku already proved that to be a myth. xD
I think SE would do a remaster of 12 than remake it.
But 6 & 9 are definitely deserving, along with 8. ^^
I have a feeling that a lot of people (pro and cons alike) actually did not read what Yu Suzuki said, on why Shenmue 3 had to go to kickstarter. :(
Star Ocean situation is the same as Tales Of games from Bamco. Most of the fans of the franchise are on Playstation.
The tech issue is just an excuse. They just don't want to spend money on the community with the lesser fanbase for the title.
Its hard to dispute that xD
I'm pretty sure Sega would have made the game already or MS backed it like they did with Shenmue 2 on the Original Xbox but with the high production cost nowadays. Its hard to gauge anything with petitions because you do not know if its the same person voting over and over and its not like Shenmue has a fanbase to rival the big names out there too but with kickstarter you put your money where your mouth is and Sony is not the only investor for the game.

From what I understand, Sega only agreed to let Yu make the game if he kickstarts it. My guess is no one wanted to take a direct risk in paying for the IP and Sega as we know does not want to revive most of their franchise for whatever reason.
So Yu took the challenge and is probably now swimming with investors money. Maybe Sega is one of them.
So you guys would rather not have the game at all? The fans have begged Yu and Sega to kickstart this game for years. If this is the only way to revive beloved and great old franchises so be it. This is not your yearly sequel afterall.
Mishandled is putting it mildly. Their lack of concrete strategy is what did the Vita in. I've posted these a couple of times already.
Aside from the obvious overpriced memory cards, with the bigger ones cost more than an actual game.
-They released the Vita with a western focus when the biggest handheld market is Japan.
-When the big western 3rd party support dried up, they turned the Vita into an indie platform.
-Now its a Japanese niche...
I can't wait for Yakuza 5 to come out and I hope Sony/Sega decides to bring over Yakuza 0 in the near future too.
I can understand not allowing modding on multiplayer but singleplayer?
That doesn't affect anybody but the one playing by himself.
Even if you outsource, all policies on how to handle customers are still made/approved by the company that outsourced the support.
So it wouldn't matter either way. The policy is the one that will make or break the support.
I already said this before and I will say it again:
"Never Underestimate the Big N"
EDIT:
You do need to get updated on Sony's financial though.
Yup, the console wars. Its a vicious cycle.
I am very pleased with this news. :)
Nice!!!
Please don't listen to our National Commission for Culture and the Arts they are stupid in so many levels.
^
Dude I know you just want to get into the skin of Sony fans in this site but as it has already been explained. The company who is making this game is not an indie.
At least lets get that right. So when you do your console war stuff. You won't look like you don't know what your talking about. ;)
Just a friendly reminder. Carry on, Forum warrior!
Edit: Umm... sorry no, now you are just trying to make a spin of things. Its not ...
They said the same thing against the PC market during the height of the consoles and it didn't happen. Last generation mobile should have killed the consoles that didn't happen either.
Maybe next generation. lol!
That's nice but I would rather see God Eater 2: Rage Burst localized.
