In all fairness to all Vita owners, I think its how Sony made the presentation that confused and angered the community. I mean they came out with the PSTV (formerly known as VTV) but not a single glimpse of any Vita game for it. Of course, SE kinda compounded the hot atmosphere already. It was kinda like meant to happen. hehehe ^^;;
I understand Type-0 getting console versions but not even a digital only for the Vita is kind of sad. I mean they did it with FFX HD but couldn't do it for Type-0? The PSP version is Vita compatible, if I'm not mistaken.
All of you are actually right, its getting support and not getting it at the same time. The west, after being the 1st to support the Vita has abandoned it, while the Japanese are finally the ones supporting it.
Sony failed to strike a balance with the Vita. It was too western centric at launch and now its a niche Japanese centric device. The sales figures reflect this shift.
I hate to say it but you are probably right most visual novel and anime related games hardly get localized. :(
Also, Kat has become the poster girl for the Vita, so I doubt they would move a cult franchise and insult a loyal fanbase just like that.
Hopefully, its Type-0 and not Agito but then again this is SE. So I'm expecting the mobile game, even if I'm hoping its the dedicated handheld one.
My body is ready!!! My wallet has no choice~ :3
Gawd I can't remember the last Digimon game. Did we ever got one on the PSP? I saw some screenshots of the new Digimon game and it looks pretty ^^
No worries, Gravity Rush has been one of the more recognizable games on the Vita, its footprints are all over the place from Destiny of Spirits, Hot Shot Golf and Ragnarok Odyssey ACE and the sequel came about because of the high demand from fans to make one.
Sony knows they have a cult following with the game. Last thing they want would be to insult such loyal fans by canceling the game.
Advance Wars! :D
LO2 please! :D
I will be happy to see the X1 do well in China but don't get too excited about it.
I've lived, studied and continues to visit China from time to time and whoever this "AmericanMcGee" person is, he makes some valid points that a person who has visited China would know.
Edit: And yes consoles have been sold there for a long time, even with the ban. You can go to a legit electronic store in the malls and they are not hard to miss.
I think its serious, its coming from " http://www.microsoftproduct... after all. XD
Nice~!!! :D
@Mr-Dude
Well the people disagreeing are just too optimistic and more than likely never lived, studied or even been there to begin with. Reality is sadly different from their expectations.
Unless consoles become a social status like with smartphone and cars or a basic necessity like PC then it would be safer not to put too much faith in the general public or the market.
Anyways, I'm just sharing the current status of China, everything is ...
Its more than just income, its also culture. The reason Chinese are PC and mobile centric because the general population is a single child.
The majority of Chinese gamers are either on the go or in a computer shop to socialize with friends or colleagues.
Now some people who never been to China will say this is BS but I implore you guys to go there and visit. The reality on the ground is just so different.
@Naga
Consoles have been sold in China for years even with the ban, you need to really go there to realize any console being officially released in China will not change the gaming landscape that we have now.
They are PC and mobile centric. Its like saying Japan will become a console market again. Its just not going to happen, think of South Korea in this regard.
Now I'm not hating or anything but as a person who once lived & studied ...
Someone needs to throw money at Sega for this to happen.
I'm alright with paying for subscription IF the game gives me more fun than headaches.
I think this is the reason for the anger, not only was there not even a mention of the Vita but you had this wrong announcement fiasco by PS Blogs about FF Type-0 coming to the Vita.
So Type-0 became the boiling point of the dismay.
Also, being already Vita compatible in Japan via PSN and not getting a localization to the Vita really added insult to injury. :/
