I like the pic, hate the article. If Nintendo didn't come out with it Sony would have. Nintendo didn't revolutionise motion controls, they did what they always do with add ons and peripherals. Nothing. Sony took an idea and made it better. Nintendo even with all the money and 'success' they have, haven't proven the Wiimote is better than a controller. They can sell all the copies of SMG they want. The Wii is still a piece of crap.
Everyone is going out of their way to defend Kinect. What, Microsoft didn't know that their would be camera flashs or that the conditions weren't ideal to showcase Kinect or even that bright light could disrupt the Kinect 's signal? Now I know Microsoft can't be that stupid to plan events in places that aren't ideal to showcase the Kinect. Why is it that people claim it is perfect but as soon as you show a video it only shows the Kinect glitching,lagging and giving problem...
For all the people defending it saying that its the flash of cameras causing it to malfunction, shouldn't Microsoft have known that? How come they didn't say 'no flash photography during the demo because it may interfere with the game'? Or is this another rule to add to the Kinect do's and dont's list that Microsoft did not mention? MM have made a game maker more powerful then any before it. I am already itching to create my first top down and first person shooter and then it's RPG time.
I don't get what he means. Don't you get good storytelling from a good story? Don't I have to build the wire frame of the story before I tell it? If I tell you a story about 3 girls for example don't I have to make the setting, build the character, set the emotional tone etc. The way he puts it as if I just start telling the story with the 3 girls and just make it up as I go along with no plan or direction and hope my storytelling skills are good enough to keep you awake. Here an idea. Instead of people guessing and suggesting what Kinect might be used for, how about Microsoft shows us. Sony has shown a ton of tech demos showcasing what the Move can and will be able to do. But Microsoft hasn't. They claim that they have lots of support but how come they don't have any suggestions on what to do with the Kinect either? How could they have no examples, demos,or ideas? Maybe Microsoft has no idea what to do with it at all judging from their game line up.
Of course it can compete. That is until everyone buys it, takes it out of the box and plays it. then back to the store it goes and word of mouth will kill the rest of sales. Just wait and watch the train wreck.
If you rant and rave instead of write, make claims with no proof,make wild and unproven statements, throw facts and figures in everyone's face and talk like a mental patient yes you are a fanboy. I am completely convinced now. Anyone who still buys this thing after seeing its inferior performance in every video is a lost cause. I say go for it. If you want to buy trash because Microsoft told you too, go ahead. Just remember, when you unwrap the Kinect and realise what you have brought, we warned you. Not a very good interview. Not because he looked down on Sony per se but his answers were unsatisfactory. They just didn't sound convincing or informative. In my personal opinion I find Xplay has gotten very boring and one sided. I used to trust their scores until a few resent ones that made no sense.
