Definitely one of the better F2P games, though I find the game to be too much of a grind. It's quite fun while playing in a group. Not so much when those consist of randoms that don't talk.
The thing is, it doesn't depend on the graphics style if a game has enough value to be worth 60$, it totally depends on the game if it's worth it.
Take a look at Borderlands, which is also a cartoon like game and even largely depends on coop, which means that you won't find many players after a short amount of time has passed.
Imo it was totally worth the 60$ I spent for it, since it was fun from start to finish and the game kept me playing for a decent a...
You don't seem to know much about PvZ GW. It's 3rd person and kind of similar, but not as extensive, as TF2.
Being more like a cartoon is also irrelevant for the pricetag. It's just not an "AAA" game.
Release timing is questionable though, considering they didn't spent much money for ads it goes down unnoticed.
That fanboy quirk about PS Users was uncalled for btw...
I can't stand the standard 60$ game myself, but demanding that a game must be cheaper when it doesn't tack on a singleplayer of some sorts is BS.
If the game isn't worth the full retail price in your opinion, then you shouldn't buy it first hand day one.
You'll get a better deal when there is a sale or by getting a second hand copy.
But other people value it differently and are willing to pay the full retail price.
It's yet another bug of the game.
Apparently it doesn't even affect performance.
The difference between 55 and 45% of 160m is 16m. ;)
55%=88m
45%=72m
@WB just no. It was slower - causing longer load times - but that's about it. Lots of games still didn't require an installation while looking gorgeous and running just fine.
@dantesparda You're forgetting that they aren't selling the console to retailers for 4/500$.
As of late all major MP games published by EA have had a beta pre-launch. So obviously Titanfall will have one as well.
Have to disagree, Project Cars does look better by a wide margin. I haven't seen a screenshot of the game yet which didn't impress. Though it isn't limited by the hardware so that's that.
I'd love to see how much they can push the next gen consoles.
@Master Raiden Actually Sony is in a comfortable position even without such a deal. It's very unlikely that another high quality baseball game would get enough traction to be profitable. The market just isn't big enough for multiple competitors to coexist at the moment.
Afterthought: It might work with a game mode that pushes micro transactions like Ultimate Team in FIFA... Though they'd still need to attract a reasonable player base for that to work out which is ...
You are aware that server support for sports games is dropped quite early, aren't you?
Not to mention that the 2K servers suck.
If the devs didn't cripple the input to match all those controllers I'd be completely fine with it. However that just isn't the case, just take a look at the PS4 version of BF4.
They didn't make use of the touchpad at all, even though there are a ton of PC exclusive inputs which would have fitted the touchpad control very nicely.
@xphearr3dx IIRC it's just that sprinting is fluently put into the controls. Instead of starting to sprint by pushing a button, you are sprinting by pushing the stick all the way forward. That gives you more control over the movement speed compared to other games, though you need to control your movement a bit more.
They do, but the game devs need to allow them as well to use them in games.
@george Most webcams (even bad ones) can measure your heartrate. All you need is a software for that. There are even working apps for smartphones.
@AndrewLB I just read the original release for investors.
DTS-HD Master Audio|7.1 is a new technology by DTS, they actually trademarked it with the |7.1 suffix. So the decoder in the PS4 is the first one to support that new technology, whatever it is. I guess the VOD-stream codec itself is called that.

@hollahox Don't know. Maybe the codec is efficient enough to stand it's ground at that bitrate. If so the required bandwidth could be reduced which is always a good thing.
Near lossless doesn't sound too shabby, though it's obviously a marketing term.
@hollabox The way I understand it is that there is a 7.1 audio codec based on the DTS-HD MA codec for internet streams at 512 Kbit per second. Though it isn't completely lossless.
I'd expect them to use it with Gaikai, and other services like Netflix might support it in the future as well.
So the decoder is capable of decoding this streaming codec as well as all other DTS codecs which aren't streamed.
MS had some good news for a while now. ;)
Though DX12 won't be such a huge jump on X1 since it already uses a custom D3D console API which doesn't have as much overhead to begin with.
