There is nu arguing that Blu-ray is the technically superior format, and I for one am glad that this has happened, since switching formats isn't something that I enjoy nor look forward to. We would need a new medium much faster if HD DVD was the victorious format, simple math.
I have a HD DVD player for my Xbox 360, and a PS3, so I can play either format, but I do prefer Blu-ray.
Either you know absolutely nothing about Blu-ray, or you're simply lying. Pleading ignorance might be preferable on your part, though.
First of all, most HD DVDs aren't combo discs, only a few of them are, and the ones that are are even more expensive than the regular HD DVDs.
Second of all, Blu-ray players do support firmware updates:
You have previously claimed to only consider facts. I honestly cannot see how you can consider what you just claimed to be factual, since it has been denied by the publisher and the developer since day one, basically.
The only viable conclusion here is that you in fact do not care about the facts, could that be the case?
I really don't know what Bill Gates might have i store for us, and I bet I couldn't guess what it is either. If they were to include HD DVD in a new SKU, they would also have to upgrade HDMI to version 1.3, to make it a really competitive player. And add support for high definition sound, naturally. Doesn't sound like something they would bother with.
My guess would be some sort of IPTV support, but that's as far as my imagination takes me I'm afraid. :)
It's "fanboyism" to believe the publisher and the developer? Comments like yours puzzle me, to say the least.
First of all, we have to be clear about what a "gap" actually is. It is a space between two things, right? And since the PS3, as well as the Xbox 360, naturally, started out at 0, your statements are actually false.
Lets say, for argues sake, that the PS3 hadn't sold a single console since release. The total sales figures for the Xbox 360 is currently 15.69 M, according to VG Chartz. Then, the gap would be that exact number, 15.69 M. Since release however, the PS3 has...
It's set for release on February 5. Next month will be great, since at the end of the month, Condemned 2: Bloodshot is released. I'll be getting those two for sure, considering getting Unchartered as well.
Right now I'm playing Wild Arms and Guitar Hero III though, so I do keep myself busy.
I agree, the behavior you describe is fairly annoying. But then again, you yourself do make claims et cetera that can't really be checked or even considered to be factual. You say that you only consider the facts, but earlier you also stated that everyone "knows" that the PS3 will end up last in the current console war, something I do hope you know for a fact isn't really decided yet.
Personally, I work with statistics and numbers for a living, so I know how to read t...
Your comment puzzles me, since I've actually read how this thread started out. Where exactly do the "sonyfanboys" attack the Xbox 360?
The Xbox 360 has some great titles, no doubt about that, but not even the Xbox 360 fan base seems to be too sure in the success of its own platform when they start to spew garbage such as this.
Seriously people, you can't talk constantly about how great "your" platform is and marvel at its superiority, and then start more or less stealing titles from other platforms. That my friends is a sign of weakness.
Now I've got the Xbox 360, as well as the PS3 an...
This does seem to be the only relevant way of deciding. I happen to think that the PS3 controller is more suited for "button mashing", since the buttons are softer, but that might be just me. That's why I'll be getting the PS3 version.
It's kind of funny how people believe themselves to be capable of deciding what version is better just by looking at the released videos. People who aren't brand new to gaming however tend to realize that you can only trust yourself in ...
When someone, such as yourself, calls a gaming system the "PniS3", rants about how much better is equipment is and then proceeds to calling OTHER people childish, that simply makes my day. Good laugh indeed.
Here in Sweden, all this sounds pretty strange to us, since the PS3 has never really lost momentum here. I know about ten people that own the console, and far from all of them are hardcore gamers.
Don't really know why this is, but here I've never ever heard anyone complaining about integrated Blu-ray etc. Most people seem to consider the PS3 to be a really good deal, simple as that.
I'm the first one to admit that I don't know how these things work in any great detail, but couldn't Sony just publish the game for the PS3? Or is that impossible?
I'm just thinking outside the box here people, no need to trash me. :)
BioShock is indeed a great game, and a fantastic experience from start to end, but I don't see how it is revolutionary. It's still a first-person shooter, although the voice acting etc is great.

Actually try and play the game you're commenting on. You'll surely see that it is in fact AAA, no doubt about it.
Bubbles for you and your whit, kind sir!
I haven't really been a fan of GameSpot even before this, but man, I hope this hurts them big time. Not because I'm a hardcore R&C fan, cause I'm really not, but because of the fact that people who write this trash don't belong in the gaming industry, period.
Well then, you do you define "future proof"? We do seem to have different definitions...
My definition is that the format will last as long as possible, making yet another switch of formats unnecessary for as long as possible. Features like PiP etc do not make formats future proof, and neither does HDMI 1.3. I think we can all agree that since Blu-ray has much better storage capacity, it will in fact be used longer, thus making it at least more future proof than HD DV...
Name one way in which Blu-ray isn't technically superior.
