Playing Gears of War 3 currently...not only is it BC but MS patching it to 4K has made a game from last gen look current gen! It's SOOOO insanely good looking!
I've had zero problems with my One X, minus having to replace the first one because of a power issue.
As for your concerns, just going to address the last one.
That's a problem with your batteries, NOT the controller or the Xbox. I bought Panasonic Eneloop batteries, not only do they last insanely long, getting an easy 3-4 days worth of usage, but they're %100 accurate when they run low.
Whatever happened to being rewarded with specific items after earning achievements or beating a boss?
Loots boxes will ensure you do the same shit over and over again until you finally get that one piece you need in-game.
It's incredibly irritating and a very lazy way for developers to make there game.
On top of that it opens the door to microtransactions, which are ridiculous themselves as is.

I've got plenty of friends that game on both Xbox One and PS4.
What's the harm in having crossplay with both sides.
