What, you don't remember the great Pine Tree Man?
Hmm...Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not sure if I'd say reading the description of an item you picked up really counts as the sort of story only a game can tell. The ambiance and atmosphere and all that, sure, but "This key opens up a scary thing WATCH OUT!" could probably be conveyed just as easily in a book/movie, couldn't it?
Yeah, totally. I've never been affected by a game *after* I was done with it.
Dead Space handles okay, and that's really the thing...controls that are "okay" is almost the best you can hope for with stuff like this.
I love the way the writer immediately jumps to conspiracy theories. Always a good move to make. haha
Srsly though, good piece.
The gem thing does sound kind of interesting, but like the article says, it'd probably be better suited for...not this.
The game does seem weird from a gameplay standpoint, but I never really realized how weird it was from a conceptual standpoint. Crazy stuff.
I remember getting pretty freaked out by Condemned, but I think the author is right. The fact that you have a controller in your hand does kinda pull you out of it...
Easily one of the most influential games in recent memory. I'm gonna tell the waiter it's your birthday, GTA, and have them bring over a fancy ice cream or whatever.
Multiplayer in Dark Souls sounds fantastically evil...one of the things that seems really interesting to me.
I'm more talking about...y'know, width.
I *love* Kirby games, and more Kirby games that are co-op but aren't super easy is great in my book.
Everyone will be impressed by my doughy Solid Snake costume.
I love it when people say Nathan Fillion should play Drake...Has anybody actually seen him in the however many years since Firefly got cancelled? He doesn't exactly look like Nathan Drake anymore...
Man, I played Splatterhouse years ago but never realized how messed up it really was...This looks insanely awesome.
Awesomely insane?
Insanely insane.
Very interesting stuff...I still haven't decided whether or not I hate myself enough to take the Dark Souls plunge.
Considering I almost rage quit while fighting Deadshot in Arkham City...I'm thinking "no."
Also: Nice Arrested Development reference!
Man...I got a few of 'em, at least. I thought "Something from Doom" and "a Resident Evil thing?" were pretty good guesses...
Yeah, some of those are pretty disturbing...What's up, game devs? Working out some weird issues?
Hmm...I like to think of myself as a "smart action gamer." We'll see if I really am, since I'll be picking up Skyrim no matter what.
I don't care what type of gamer I am though, I'm really just looking foward to the moment when you first walk out of the cave/dungeon/vault/whatever and see some amazing vista. Oblivion's was great, Fallout 3's was...bleak (but great!)
Wow, this level looks and sounds amazing.
I remember seeing the aircraft carrier bit in the launch trailer was when I thought BF3's campaign could really be incredible...turns out it might just be this part, but still...
