So. It has become apparent that the anti-hype train derailed. This game is beautiful. This game is fun. And this game is what they promised.
Wherefore now fake reviews? Graphics downgradez? Teh stupidity was spreading. Yet once again (as we saw with ACIV and InFamous Second Son and Ryse and ...) we hear crickets from the naysayers.
The hate was ridiculous. If you didn't like the game and what it was showing, then too bad for you. Move on.
Valiant Hearts certainly looks intriguing though.

You answer the question quite well. And it is the same reason I backed Shadowrun: because of the developer behind the game. That is how Kickstarter succeeds. You can't just be some noob no one has heard of. You have to give some sort of background.

This prevents people from invading someone else's game, then going into offline mode until they feel the need to invade someone else's game again.

There is nothing wrong with game development. There is a problem with people who are not involved in the development process making promises about things that can't possibly be delivered.
