If what you say is true, and I hope it is, then where is all the hate for this game?
Since the new gen has launched, if a game is well liked, well made, or amazing, it usually gets a ton of hate.
Just for a second, compare Destiny (which is a great game) to Battlefield 4. One was broken at launch. The other wasn't.
No, no it isn't the general consensus. It is only the general consensus of people who think their own personal opinion carries any weight.
"Is 2014 The Year of Disappointing Games?"
No, but it is the Year of Disappointing Games Journalism. See this article as proof.
Threat on Halo? I could have used any game but since Bungie created Halo... well you get the idea.
The point was that he takes points away from Destiny for not being like Borderlands.
It is like taking points away from chocolate for not being like vanilla.
Assassin's Creed: A Purer Prince of Persia (with white people)
mehehe
Absolutely, but, like Timeskip's reply to me above, this isn't a single player game.
Yes, there is an SP mission, but that is by no means the be all and end all of the game. I happen to be in a clan and I have at least 15 people on my friends list playing this every day. That means that I get to experience all of the multiplayer aspects that are involved in the game. I say this with the experience of over 24 in game hours and I haven't even played a Raid yet. ...
Too bad you're not having fun with it. I am. And I have experienced exactly what Bungie promised but you claim doesn't happen: I adventure with 3 people, and have encountered public events, only to be joined by other groups who also fight the boss. True, you can't tell they are a group, but that doesn't matter.
Unfortunately you parroted the other reviews instead of explaining why you think it is the way it is. And another Borderlands comparison?
...
Yes and I know what you were aiming for. And, in fact, I actually like articles like this one, which is why I voted it up, and approved as soon as the report was fixed.
I am just adding a bit to the "other side" of this discussion.
I don't think you guys "wear underwear and play video games all day" though. I know it can be (for some) a career and a difficult one at that.
"What do you think when somebody tells you that they write for a website, more specifically, a gaming news website? I know most people I've come across think I get to sit around in my under wear all day whilst playing the latest games"
No. I think that lately, (within the past 5 years) Gaming News writing has taken a drastic turn for the worst with sensationalism trumping quality, well written, well thought articles.
I think that many "jou...
Wreck it Ralph
Hitman
Resident Evil (I know it doesn't follow the game precisely, but I don't want it to)
Silent Hill was good too.
I loved The Last Starfighter but that might be because I was a kid.
Tomb Raider wasn't too bad.
Final Fantasy was good.
Have either of you ever considered the fact that many of us PC gamers also own consoles and enjoy gaming on both?
Read my second to last paragraph, if you would. It isn't just "anyone who disliked Destiny."
It isn't ignorant to see that "hateboys" are people who just hate something for no other reason.
The COD and Halo series have their own fanboys and detractors. Many that dislike COD love Battlefield, and therefore love gaming. Same with the Halos.
I am not talking fanboyism. In fact, I am not entirely sure that you re...
We get checks? Oh boy oh boy oh boy!
Is the compensation equal to the amount of enjoyment I get out of the game.
er..I mean, is the comp. equal to the amount of enjoyment I (as a paid shill, obviously) claim to get out of the game.
I could retire, if that were the case.
This one got me though:
"“Nub probably has 28-29s carry his lvl 25 ass thru strikes.” – EliteExtremist1337""
Awesome. And, lately I feel like I have been a bit repetitive about these repetitious "hateboys."
The sad thing is these people just hate things millions of people enjoy. Why? Is it a hipster thing? Quite possibly, but it seems more prevalent than ever.
Remember the claims that inFamous Second Son had a "graphics downgrade?" Or the claims that Watch Dogs was "empty."
I wish they'd just go away. I do...
Happy Birthday!
Awesome job. Wish I could +up your blog entry. You've pretty much encapsulated everything I have been saying for years.
I prefer to call these types of people "Hateboys." They literally hate gaming. They purposely join the bandwagon attack on any game and their comments are repetitive about said game.
For instance, when inFamous Second Son first came out, these hateboys were claiming "graphics downgrades" but then photo mode came out and they were silenced.
They did the same for Watch Dogs and now Destiny.
What will be their next game to ...
Not a bad take. But I don't think Bungie misrepresented anything. I think some angry people that hate gaming misinterpreted what Destiny is, that is for certain.
It's funny that the reviews where the reviewers took their time and actually played the game seem to have a higher score than the ones that act like Bungie stole their cookies.
So is this the new title that hateboys are going to hate?
Hey Article creator, Repetitive was used repeatedly for Destiny. Come up with a new hateboy term from your hateboy glossary.
