Among so many others (eg No Man's Sky, Helldiver's)
So, let me get this straight.
Hateboys complain that there aren't enough games for the system (they're wrong BTW), and now, 2 AAA games are releasing in the same month and now it's a "Bad Idea."
WTF? Learn to journalize.
These people are not Social Justice Warriors.
Social Justice Warriors are people like Susan B. Anthony, Medgar Evars, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Malala Yousafzai, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and others that faced jail, murderers and rape.
Do not, EVER, equate (internet troll) Anita Sarkeesian and her little band of puppets with the above mentioned people. That is a slap in the face to the women who were beaten and raped for suffrage. It is spitting on the grave...
Oh My Gandalf, YES!
Shadow of Mordor, LBP3, Dragon Age Inquisition... so many, many great games coming out.
But I love how the article completely ignores the games that people are LOVING.
Well said, well said. See, this is what gamergate is really about: Calling out sensationalistic journalism that doesn't really reflect the opinions of the people who actually play games.
Gamergate, the real gamergate is about pushing for ethics in gaming journalism. If you have been around here within the last say 2 years or so, you may have noticed tons of hate based articles, ridiculous review scores (eg Battlefield 4 was rated on average 8.0 for a broken game), and basically a ton of really poorly written sensationalist "articles."
Gamergate really came to a head when it was revealed that game reviewers were giving higher scores in return for mo...
I think you need to read the tweets that are posted on the article. Not saying Gamergate is an attack on women.
This article is about a piece of scum/ moron named Mike Cernovich.
Awesome list. And to think, 31 games on TWO PAGES!?!!! Amazing!
Voted Up!
Do you have evidence that the media is liberal? Any at all? See, though you're writing from the UK, in the US this appears to be a similar claim, yet, even though our 1st Amendment is supposed to guarantee a separation of State and Press, I highly doubt that the two aren't in bed together... even our "Public" TV and Radio.
So, again, I must ask: Do you have evidence of the claim your sensationalist headline is claiming?
Destructoid was made a joke when Jim Sterling ruined their online presence. Now they've just destroyed themselves.
Congrats!
Agent or the Last Guardian
Completely agree.
MAG was a blast, and I think it would be even more amazing on the PS4. It was ahead of its time for consoles.
Actually Beerzombie is wrong. There was a recent court case in which a defendant had virtual child pornography, no actual minors being used. See Ashcroft vs Free Speech Coalition.
"The mere tendency of speech to encourage unlawful acts is not a sufficient reason for banning it. ... The Government has shown no more than a remote connection between speech that might encourage thoughts or actions and any resulting child abuse. Without a significantly stronger, more direc...
I see you used the slippery slope logical fallacy here. The right wing in the USA uses this when trying to prevent two people that love each other from getting married. They say, "What's next? If you let gays marry, then pedophiles will rape children."
It is saying one thing that is completely unrelated will happen because of another thing.
If you don't like this game or its content, then that is great, don't play it or buy it. But...
Actually, we have. And, since we have been studying violent media for over 2 decades, the conclusion has been just that. Violent video games, books, movies do not make individuals violent.
It isn't straw man at all. Especially when it is backed up with decades of research.
In this case, I will stick with the experts. There are no peer reviewed, scientific studies that show a connection between violence and video games.
However, there ...
It's Final Fantasy Shenmue: Agent, The Last Guardian Redemption 4
Yes. And I think we should start an Indiegogo project for $150,000 NOT to bother Gabe and friends.
This is a really, really weird take. On one hand you claim that violent video games have their place. Then you say "I wouldn't play [it] if you paid me." Which is the perfect stance.
No one is forcing someone to play this. I remember plenty of controversial games, Manhunt, ThrillKill... but there was a time when games were never rated, and they didn't harm society then.
Unfortunately, after what is a good blog you use the slippery slope ...
Yep.
When PS4 took the lead in graphics and sales...
