Well it requires a clever trick and doesn't look tremendous. Most people won't be able to create this but they can all play and enjoy it!

@turnerdc

I was skeptical from the instant I saw the "proof" video. The funny thing is that fanboys were criticizing the reviewers for not being at level 40 whilst at the same time accepting some dubious evidence as proof and obviously not being at level 40 themselves.

Looks awesome, sounds... well let's just say the sound of the engine is not very nice to listen to.

I don't know - I think fighter pilots go through more Gs. Would definitely need conditioning though...

Whaaat? Where did they say LBP2 would have 3D? I already KNEW that LBP2 would not have 3D - this is not news. It's just reconfirming something.

Look at the original comment. "Wait wait wait, GT5 has been sold millions worldwide and many owners still playing it. You call that a DISAPPOINTMENT??!?!"

A game can easily sell millions and be a disappointment, because sales=/=quality. The OP is making a sales argument.

Yeah lol

These fanboys crack me up sometimes. We will both get disagrees of course. But they are so inconsistent it's really quite funny.

It's obvious that sales=/=quality and that GT5 would have sold reasonably well even if it was complete crap. The only reasonable source we can turn to is people's opinions on the game. And many people ARE disappointed (including reviewers, or do they not count as people?)

It's because retailers kept listing dates that turned out to be inaccurate. Also even insiders thought it would be out last christmas (internal release date). There have only been 2 official delays from official release dates, but there have been many more from expected release dates. When you reveal a game so many years before it's released, people are going to say it's been "delayed" even if you never gave a solid release date. And it does have some meaning since the g...

Well as I say, even GT4 was criticised for its progression structure - I really do think it could be changed to be a lot more fun and less of a grind. GT has always been about
- Grinding on the easy races
- Getting a good car
- Winning the hard races because you've got a good car
- Challenge came from specific events with restricted cars and licence tests

To be honest this needs to change. It could be made a lot more fun.

A...

HAHAHAHAHAHA

You just said (paraphrasing)
"Sales=quality"
HAHAHAHAHAHA

Sony fanyboys are so predictable. Game gets great reviews, poor sales => "Sales=/=quality PS3 has quality," game gets good (not great) reviews, great sales => "Consumers know what's best that's why they buy the game (sales=quality)."

People bought GT5 because it's a GRAN TURISMO GAME....

You're seriously comparing MW2 online issues to GT5? LOL!!!

MW2 has some of the best online out there. OK so it's not perfect, there is lag, glitches, exploits etc. but it's still better than 90% of games and is very fleshed out, fun, and accessible. It has plenty of progression, challenges and unlocks.

GT5 has some of the worst online out there, with zero incentive to play. Even prologue allowed you to get cash for completing online races. GT5 do...

"Was not planned"
Worst excuse ever... we should expect ALL big games to come out with a decent online component nowadays. Not planning multiplayer was their first big mistake if they didn't.

5528d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Well there are valid criticisms and crappy criticisms. I think most reviewers understand what a simulator is and what it's about. But you just can't forgive
- The archaic structure of the game (even GT4 lost marks for this, GT5 has not changed it much)
- Premium/standard car distinction
- Lacklustre online

I honestly think these three things are the major negatives that should definitely be fixed in a future GT. As most reviews have mentioned t...

Then make a comparison video and post it.

Many people have said that they have suffered this kind of damage at lower levels. Some say that the damage is not there even when they're past level 20.

Make a like-for-like comparison and I'll believe you.

5528d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

@MORGiON

I have not seen ANY proof of this fact.

Damage is simply dependent on the car as far as I can see, and it still takes a few crashes to see it.

Until I see a level 1/40 comparison video with the same car driving in the same way around the same track, I'm going to remain skeptical.

5528d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

So this is what he meant when he said damage "appears later":

-Mechanical damage options will be implemented in a new update for GT5 coming “early December”.

Nothing to do with levels... I think some fanboys are suffering from confirmation bias... oh look I'm level 40, oh and I can see damage on my car also - this mean the damage MUST have been caused by me becoming level 40 not by my awful driving!

Yeah it's one thing to have features locked out, but it's quite another to not even mention that they will be unlocked. The reviewers (if they didn't get to lvl 40) were probably convinced that they'd seen most of what the game had to offer. How were they to know? Maybe there's a feature that's unlocked once you get the platinum trophy, that nobody knows about yet. Should they get the platinum before reviewing "just to be sure"?

"We pay $50 to get free"

Doh! Another victim. If you pay you don't get free. Remember that, it will help you in many things.

The point is that you are now locked into paying that much even if you weren't going to buy that many games. And you may still spend more in the PS Store. Most of the stuff that you get is not stuff you'd have bought anyway. Yes - value-wise it is a good deal, but so are 3-for-2 offers when you were previously only...
