Here's one reason...Boasting about the backwards compatibility numbers could drum up more excitement for other publishers to digitally release more backward compatible games. I like that Microsoft is letting me play past games that i missed without having to buy that console again.

It tells you that 1 billion hours were spent playing backwards compatible games. That's exactly what it tells you. You have a lot of other good questions though.

Hm. I would say that the vast majority of xbox gamers have PLENTY to play. Even a backlog. Right now I'm playing Fortnite, Sea of Thieves, PubG. Squeezing some god of war in there too. Made a promise to myself that my son and I would finish cup head so we still chip away at that every now and then. Never played Red dead redemption but I got it for 7 bucks on sale a few years back digitally. With the new 4k tv, the game looks beautiful on the X. Now I have to play that before Red dead 2 co...
Correction, it's all the backwards compatibility team talks about these days. You know, because that's their job and stuff.
You know that 3rd party games play on Xbox right? It doesn't only play exclusives. You have to understand that. Does ms have exclusives? Yes. Do they appeal to you? Doesn't sound like it. I have all 3 systems and game on Xbox the majority of the time as that's where the games I like to play are. But just because I'm not a fan of single player games, i wouldn't go around saying "ps4 has no exclusives". That's ridiculous.
They are multipat devs. This new game is hitting xbox and ps4 as well.
I'm a fan of remedy doing whatever excites them. Maybe it resonates with me, maybe it doesn't. Still think they're a solid developer.

Not sure i follow. I love sea of thieves. I purchased an extra copy to be able to play with my kids. We play it consistently and it's almost a completely different experience each time. You bring up god of war which is a great game but after i beat it, i just send it back to game fly. I find myself having to buy the Xbox games more often because they fall more under games as a service, which i prefer.
