Reasons why the Helghan are not Space Nazis:
No concept of superiority to other races, the Helghan don’t have any equivalent of the jew death camps or arrogance over the slavs
No concept of Lebensraum, i.e., murdering other races to gain their land and obtain “breathing space”, the Helghan merely want to take back what’s rightfully theirs (Vekta).
Some people draw parallels with the treaty of Versailles and the suffering that was capitalized on by the...

Two comments that disqualify this article from being taken seriously
"Sony originally marketed Killzone as a Halo killer"
Rule 1: get your facts right.
"The Helghast are actually space Kerberos who are Japanese Nazi police"
If you have played the games or have a passing interest in the story, the Helghast are not like the Nazis. If anything, they are the injured party, who were forced onto the horrendous plaanet of Helghan.
“Killzone is not anything special in the FPS genre.”
Best graphics, AI imho. Also the only shooter that has such a slow, tactical feel to it with the weight on weapons, good change from the CoD/BFBC/halos
“I'd take Battlefield over MAG any day if I wanted large scale team based warfare.”
Not comparable. Battelfield is closer to KZ2 in execution. MAG is in a league of its own, it takes team-play and tactics to an extreme.
“ There are far be...
I haven’t played a game as creative as LBP2
No hack and slash as good as GoW3
Heavy Rain, the best story and unique experience
KZ2/3 have the best graphics, AI, multiplayer
MAG, the best team-based multiplayer
UC1/2, the best 3rd person action adventure
Ratchet the most fun platformer
GT5, the best simulator
Motorstorm 2, in top 3 arcade racers
Demon’s Souls/Valkyria the most immersive RPGs
So, on the who...
Prototype gets surprisingly positive reviews for such a mediocre game.
Bayonetta gets unbelievable acclaim for a DMC clone
Generic FPS Bulletstorm gets hailed as the saviour of FPS
Sometimes I wonder if all you need to get great reviews is to release an average multiplatform title alongside a AAA PS3 exclusive
What’s the fuss about? Seems like LBP is on track to hit the same sales as LBP1, and 4m sales is impressive for a game created on a pretty meagre budget.
And as far as I see, only Halo games sell in 10m range on the xbox, GT5 may actually surpass that. Gears hits 5m, so does MGS and Uncharted on PS3. LBP hit 4million, while critically acclaimed Mass Effect and Bioshock barely crawled past 2m. Demon’s Souls outsold Lost Odyssey, Heavy Rain outsold Alan Wake.

Anyone notice how important "story" has become when it comes to KZ3?
And as for their other reason for not playing KZ3, some of us like to play a shooter that involves use of cover against enemies with smart AI, rather than play another generic run and gun spray and pray Halo/CoD clone.
"The jaggies in this game are so bad"
We have played the game demo and multiplayer beta, you know.
No, that is NOT the story from resistance, its a bit deeper than that. Just like the Helghan in KZ are not really space Nazis, if anything probably the wronged party in that story.
And this
"Your mission is to blast your way back to the man whose betrayal landed you here...simple narrative filled with imaginative (often gynaecological) swearing"
is construed as a positive, while KZ2 was incessantly criticised for, wait for it, having a weak story and too much swearing. Unbelievable.
Thats why it would be useful to have sectional scores
Graphics: KZ3 is much superior
Content: both have similar single-player length, only KZ3 has online multi so KZ3 wins here
Characters: KZ3 is much criticised, yet Bulletstorm essentially relies on profanity and cliched, Gears-like characters, so nothing to choose
Gameplay: again nothing to choose, both are solid but different styles. If anything, Bulletstorm is more generic than KZ3 with its weighte...
Yes, its not all about reflexes, but rather planning your approach and using cover. The cover also seems to be better designed in 3 compared to 2, based on my experience in the demo.
My favorite part was
"I do however still remember Killzone 2... my clan mates, they all stopped playing it two weeks later, my full friends list stopped playing it, so I took my copy back"
I love the trolls who pretend not to be what they are, they are so funny
Raven Nomad - someone who stated
"Gears isn't generic in the least, the characters are very well developed and I enjoy their story"
nuff said
No matter how much you pretend, Bulletstorm is anything but new or fresh, just another generic, me-too shoter with a gimmick, the same loud, stupid characters we have already seen in Gears. Its doesn’t have the graphics, unique weighty feel to combat or art direction, superlative AI, well developed...
I miss the gritty colours of KZ2. I still remember the dark, brooding environments of salamun and Blood gracht, thats waht made KZ2 so unique. I guess most gamers wanted it to change though, and I am happy the online is still a lot of fun.
All this talk of “fanboy outrage” is rubbish. I don’t think anyone is claiming any game has a divine right to score 90+ or that KZ3 is perfect.
What is annoying is the bias/inconsistency. If KZ3 is being scored below Halo:ODST by some sites, that’s just ridiculous.
As far as I see, KZ3 has much superior graphics to Halo/CoD, phenomenal best-in-class AI, excellent multiplayer maaps and solid gameplay that offers a fresh experience (cover, weight on weapons, gr...
Basically, they are just scraping the barrel now. Sales – the last resort of the xbox fan. If this sells 3 or 4 million, they will choke to death or something.
Remember, it wont look as good as that E3 trailer – turns out actually looks better
The AI is really poor (based on a short gaming vid) – the final KZ2 build shows up how laughable Halo/CoD “AI” is
Its too “dark”, the environments are too similar – fixed in KZ3, even though many KZ fans actually liked ...
@Tinasumsum
"Kinect is actually a success"
"The developers have always backed Kinect"
Show us the games.
The problem with coop AI is that if you make them too good, they steal all your kills. That, I guess, is the reason they are underpowered. For instance, in KZ and Uncharted the enemy AI is really good, and the AI on bots in KZ is also really good, so surely they could make coop AI very strong if they wanted to.
One game that nailed the AI issue was Deus Ex.
