All of the bad things that have come from Dice (and everything else that EA owns) can probably be attributed to EA being so intrusive and greedy.
in 2007 it almost seemed like EA went to rehab and came out a clean man, they were good for like 2 years, then it all went down the drain.

The Japanese have school 6 days out of the week (I think this may have changed though) and long work hours. So they really don't have much time to sit down and play a game on a console. Much easier to bring around a handheld and play it for some short bursts. Plus playing games in public isn't stigmatized like it is in the west.

The console "comes into it" because its an article about the PS4. Those games you mentioned, only 1 of them is exclusive. That matters, because exclusive games are one of the biggest factors for people when buying a certain console over another.

Because most games made in the west are shooters and are catered to us. Japanese gamers aren't really fans of that. Games that do come to the west from japan, don't really have that many japanese references in them like they did in the PS1/PS2 (unless they were removed) and can appeal to a wide variety of people since they are just really great games.
The river kinda of flows both ways here. Japanese dislike western games to an extent, and viceversa.
I find it hard to believe that The Order 1866 has been pre ordered that much.
A lot of big sites have been praising Alien: Isolation as well. I think it's a bit funny that the sites who are giving Alien iso. bad reviews are also saying that shadow of mordor is the best game since sliced bread.

But if Galaxy 2 was the better game, why not put it on the list. This is a list of the top 10 BEST games right? Demon souls came first, but dark souls was an improvement in basically every single way. Open world, more bosses, more armor/weapon variety, better controls, better graphics.
Dark Souls is far more popular and has had more of an impact than Demon Souls, plus most people would argue that it is the better game.
Now that you mention it, why isn't Bioshock 1 on that list? It was one of the most influential and memorable games last generation.
