I don't think it's a good idea to quote sales at this point in time to a game's success. No Man's Sky had an incredible sale stretch, but plummeted like a rock by the next week. TLOU II came out this past Friday, I think it would be best to wait a week or two to really see the potential influence.

Last year somewhat made sense, in the idea that they were prepping for this year and the PS5 reveal. But I find it really weird that they're not doing it this year either. Hell, even Nintendo, while they stopped with the press conferences, they at least have huge Nintendo Directs that celebrate the occasion.

I think it's because of the potential everyone had. From what I've heard, the core of the gameplay, most of the mechanics, and the shooting is there. It's just that everything else is either catastrophically bad or bland. The concept of the game is interesting, but the execution was brutally awful. I think a lot of people are still holding on because there's something actually there to build off of.
