Last time i checked, the PS1, PS2 and PS4 outsold the N64, GC and Wii U by a far bigger margin. All of their consoles minus the PS3 reached over 100 million units. Hell even the PS3 sold over 90 million. The only Nintendo home console to reach those numbers is the Wii. The Switch will get there too but Playstation has been #1 for most of its existence. That's just a fact.
You forgot about Europe. Arguably Playstations strongest market and the place where the PS3 was outselling the 360 from day 1 at higher price tag.

Cause it's easier and cheaper to get one, at least in europe. You can get a Series X on ebay for like 600€. PS5 Digital prices start at 700 and the Disc version goes for 800+ (and still outsells the SX)
