that's because the 360 disc is old technology and mutiplat developers are limited to that, to say its unneeded is dumb especially when you say the PS3 exclusives and Bluray movies take advantage of the space. the Bluray one of the things that's unique to the PS3 and gives alot of headroom for developers to let loose with their imagination. without Bluray God Of War III, Final Fantasy XIII, and future titles would have to be on multiple discs then in some cases some games like a fighte...
valve is just happy with what ever benefits them, first its PS3 sucks cause it too hard to develop on now its the Sh*t to them because they can run steam with it.
i hope its successful only if that means more good games for the hardcore gamers, i just hope it doesn't become too successful and affects the hardcore market to where they focus more on Move/Kinect.
both were great PS1 suited me more, can't count the hours i put into games like Golden Eye and Killer Instinct though.
that 2007 increase is no surprise when you have cash cows like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Crysis in that year. tons of games are or have been getting canceled like Alan Wake and PC games are going to consoles like Witcher 2 (and supposedly the first one). you got games like Assassin's Creed 2 that are absolute garbage on the PC due to extra security measures against pirating (yes i know its rampant on consoles too but its far easier to do on a PC), not even your precious steam is ...
like what? everyone has opinions, you favorite game might be someones most hated. what defines a "GOOD" game for you? a rating? and this is about the PC gaming market not PC gaming in general, of course there will MMO's out there if anything. i game on the PC as well as consoles and the PC just doesn't deliver like it used to.

like i said, it doesn't appeal to me, its not like i didn't try it, and playing one game doesn't make you a gamer playing a large variety of games does though. a house mom that jumps on the wii fit 10 minutes a day inst a gamer, id much rather play something like Castlevania or Contra. you have your opions, i have mine. end of story.
it isn't dead yet, but its slowly dying. less and less games are being made and even fewer ports, which usually are broken.
