i agree that mass effect 2 is, apart from the bugs ME1 is the far superior game.
the depth of exploration and immersion of ME2 doesn't even come close to ME1, it turned into more of a linear Gears of War type game and focuses more on shooting than the RPG element than the original.
not to mention Me2's story is a big let down compared to ME1.
