The only way I see this being tough if the Scorpio is actually a new generation console and have it's own exclusives and uses a new set of accessories. That could forced many to think twice about investing in a Xbox One S as they know the games and accessories they buy now will be obsolete by the time the Scorpio arrives.

But of course Scorpio is part of the existing Xbox One family and by announcing it early now, they are giving gamers alot of choices of how they want ...

Pongwater - give us the scope of how to play Gears of War on a PC that is cheaper than a $300 Xbox One S?

Also, Keyboard and mouse are indeed coming to Xbox so the playing field could be the same if one chooses or they can choose filters to only play against other xbox gamers as well. You are making issues out of non-issues.

Sunny D.- How is MS quitting their console cycle to move to the next one that quickly when it was already said all Xbox one games and accessories are forward compatible with Scorpio? That is exactly the same as how the Neo works with PS4. The only difference will be the Scorpio will be out a year later and has a 2 Tflop advantage. Current generation third party console titles will be best play on Scorpio.

objdadon - So will be the Scorpio. It works the same way as Neo as it will play all existing Xbox One titles and future titles. There will be no exclusive for it and developers can choose how they want to maximize it's 6Tflop power.

By the time GTA6 comes out, the xbox one version will be the best third party console port due to the Scorpio.

I don't see what is so different of what MS is doing by having consoles of different specs to fit different needs than say consumer is giving a choice to choose the hundreds of phones, PC and laptop and etc.

People forget that that is how the MS core business is founded by having their software to be on as many hardware and run on as many configurations as possible. The Xbox Play Anywhere is just a logical step in their gaming sector of their business.

So Enojay, let me get this straight. So you were saying, it only applies to you since you already owned a PC and it is redundant to YOU. Is that right?

Well then, your original comment of

"The boxes are unnecessary to enjoy the content. They are redundant."

Should be worded as

"The boxes are unnecessary to enjoy the content FOR ME. They are redundant."

You made it sounds like it...

That is like saying MS released MS Office on Mac is because it needed to in order to keep Windows and PC aflaot.

Get that nonsense out of here, fanboy.

Since both the Xbox One and Scorpio are both Windows 10 devices, it will be a piece of cake for developers to scale it to meet both platform. This is how all future titles are forward compatibility with each other. When you buy Halo 6 or Destiny 2, it will only say Xbox on it by the time Scorpio is released. Further details of how easy it is is explain on my link below.

All you need is look at sales of COD, GTAV, and every major third party games that are on both PC and consoles. Console versions greatly outsell their PC counterparts for the majority of titles so how is it redundant if MS is releasing and doing what third party publishers are doing with PC and console support?

So is providing a $300 option to play Gears 4 and Halo 6 to budget gamers and the majority of the population that don't have or afford a PC rig and the most powe...

Why are you reposting the same message we all can see from the description above already?

I think everyone that responded and have interest in this bit of fun news already knew it was only a suggestion. Are you that concern it would happen that you got to repost it to MAKE SURE?

"You will rarely see me in any Xbox article that doesn't involve Scorpio"

That is funny, I thought I have seen you in every low scoring Quantum Break reviews it seems and doing the same thing as what you are doing here. Maybe I mistakened you for someone else. If that is the case, I apologize.

Same reasons why third party games like COD, GTA, and Fallout continue to sell tons on console. Price, ease of setup, and every household have a TV in the living room and these set top boxes like Xbox and PlayStation are their main media hub that include games.

What is so hard to understand? Buy a Xbox game and play it on any MS system you want. You want to play it on the Windows 10 PC gaming machine you already have or planning to built? Go ahead. You want to play it on the most powerful console ever made and is 4k ready for your 4K TV, go ahead. You want to play it on a budget console? Xbox S is for you. If a person decides to upgrade or migrate to any of the MS systems in the future, go ahead as everything is cross compatible.

The Scorpio function the same as the Neo as it will play all games of current console and compatible with every accessories. So beside having 6TFLOP vs 4TFLOP, they are both the same gen.

Newsflash. Sony also announced the PS3 Slim in Aug 2009 at Gamescom for a September released of that year. There was no way they would announce it at E3 knowing it is an October or November release this year as that would cannibalize current PS4 sales. It needs to be announced as close to release as possible and Gamescom or the Tokyo Game show looks like the right time for it.

Pretty sure the specs leak of 4TFLOP is indeed real as everything from the leak seems like it is ...

Genuine-user - as I recalled , PSVR was onced known as 'Project' Morpheus as well and many PS fanboys were claiming hollow victory too. Food for thought.

The people that leaked the 6TFLOP specs and code name for Scorpio were also the same ones that leaked the Neo 'project' and it's specs. Also food for thought. If the specs follows, it will be an interesting event on Europgamer's Digital Foundry as the most likely outcome will be 'Project'...

Judging from many of the comments here, twitter, and Forums, many Sony fans can't deal with the fact that their next iteration is going to be weaker than the competiton for the first time since the PS2 era.

Tell Sony to open up their platform and release it on PC so all you guys can play all your PS games on the highest specs as one can afford. It is not Microsoft's fault that they made their games on as many platforms as possible to fit every gamers need. I've ...

The specs are done for Neo and Sony can't do anything at this point but maybe increase more Ram and overclock the CPU a tiny bit.

The thing is this is somewhat different than previous generations. This is the first time a new console will be forward compatible with a game console of today. Since it is not like if you buy a Xbox One S today, all your games will be obsolete by the time the Scorpio arrives. All your in investments on current and future titles and accessories will in fact all be compatible with the Scorpio and vice versa.

This is a smart move as it is telling the audience that Xbox will b...
