Meh. Don't care about Crackdown, really. But I bought Mass Effect after beating it during a Gamefly rental for just such an occasion. Maybe this year.
I should be trying more of these community games. Plus I've got an extra 200 points kicking around thanks to Microsoft's stupid "You have to buy exactly $2.50 more in points than you actually need for the game you want" system.
I actually haven't touched the multiplayer. So maybe the stats will go up once I finally get around to it!
Good point. I think everyone just likes the drama. The company had heart and it's hard to see it get butchered.
At least he got it.
Unless you got laid off.
I wonder if they'll try to pawn off that used game membership card on those poor, unsuspecting females.
Haven't played it, but I heard the horror element wasn't that .. horrifying. I think it was Yahtzee that said it was all cheap thrills rather than true psychological scares.
Well, yeah, it's somewhat obvious. Except that it's not the case for most of the other games on the top 20 list.
Retro Game Challenge actually looks kind of cool.
Those choices are bold. But are they also ... daring?
I would think the Wii and DS have more appeal from an investor standpoint. Purely speculating, but if I were to put my money in a company solely for its holiday performance, I'd say Nintendo's systems still have that buzz about them, where lots of people are still looking to purchase them. Anecdotally, the last two times I was in Gamestop someone was buying a Wii. Can't say the same for the other two systems.
Negative points for referencing Staind in the article. But any New Yorkers looking for an arcade should check out Chinatown Fair. You'll get a whooping in Street Fighter II and all its derivatives.
nice
At long last, Professor Heinz Wolff's Gravity!
Thanks for reminding me of XIII. That game had a lot of potential. It's also a shining example of why you should never end a game with a cliffhanger if you aren't 100 percent sure it's a blockbuster.
Oh, and what about President Palmer (er, Dennis Haysbert) in Spinter Cell?
Agreed. And yes, most puzzle games can be long, but I think Puzzle Quest has a bunch of extra features that extend the gameplay beyond the basics. So it's not just like logging 100 Tetris hours over your lifetime.
This line of commenting is crude, and yet somehow I agree..?
Agreed. This is different I think because the company is so close to going under at this point.
I wonder if this includes craigslist transactions. You can def save a few bucks off gamestop that way
