I think the action RPG can evolve, but in a way that pays homage to classics like link to the past. I believe that progression should continue to be linked to skill, discovery, and equipment; however, levels and numerical stats should be replaced by a more organic approach that makes sense in the game world (what that is I don't know) and should be represented by how the player character appears and moves throughout the world. The whole concept of a skill tree can be incorporated into thi...

After giving it some thought, I would have to say RPGs. I love the amazing story and sup-ing up your character. I also love the variations in battle systems as well as the infusions that are possible with other genres of games (survival horror, action, adventure, etc.) The possibilities are endless. But the feel of progression and accomplishment in a realized world is unparalleled.

Loot boxes. It falls under the whole rng thing as well. And I don’t mind it for cosmetic goodies; however, if loot boxes are implemented into gameplay and progression then that’s a problem in my opinion. Look at the whole battlefront 2 scandal. That destroyed any excitement I had for the game and any excitement I may have for future battlefront titles. I think it’s a cheap and lazy way to extend gameplay time, and it’s an insulting way to ask for more money from the consumer.

Multiplayer games having split screen capabilities, or couch co op. Not just a co-op through internet function.

The resurgence of the JRPG. There was honestly a time where the industry was moving away from JRPGs and considered them old and tired (some still do). But the criticisms only led developers to buckle down, refine, and innovate. I also think these games are the perfect example of how to perfect core mechanics while streamlining and creating new systems that enhance the gameplay and storytelling experience. Ex. Nier Automata, Dragon Quest XI, Bloodborne, Persona 5, and many more.

I'm with you, man. I've got a love/hate relationship with botw. The world (including the systems in the world that allowed you to interact with it), the music, and the combat were standouts for me. Probably close to the best in any other zelda imo. However, there was no point to initiate combat if you were only ever going to receive a resource that would eventually run out (and rather quickly for that matter). And exploration and interacting with the world eventually became tired once...

I had a whole clap back to this, but it’s not even worth it. You obviously don’t understand what an opinion is.

RYSE son of rome was the worst game experience I ever had. Shallow everything. Gameplay mechanics were weak. The game played itself. Story was nonexistent. For all the hype on how it looked, was not impressed. Put it down after an hour.

Ocarina of Time.

Never was for me adventure so perfectly executed. The systems involved made me truly feel that I was in a lived in world.

And the story. My god, the story. The wonder of the world and its mechanics attracted my young self to the game. The depth of the story (especially its bittersweet ending *spoilers* with young Link being able to live out the seven years that he had lost in order to save Hyrule) made me appreciate it for what it really...

Bruh, super Mario bros 1,2, and 3 beg to differ. Punch out is also a blast. Mega man 2 is fricken amazing.

Lol but these are the only ones that I feel stand the test of time

Bruh, Nintendo, ea, squeenix, all mobile dudes, activision/BioWare, rockstar (seriously), Microsoft, capcom

Honestly, the only one that hasn’t been blatantly anti consumer super hard is Sony.

Not being bias, just putting em all together.
