I think this was explained awhile back by someone from Nintendo: supposedly you’d always hold the right side with your right hand and then switch between analog mode with your left hand on the middle stick or classic d-pad mode with your left hand on the right stick. The analog mode is the one that caught on though so the d pad mode was rarely used

I don’t think this is a response to the people that like the game, but rather a response to the lies and broken promises during and after development from BioWare and EA. And don’t get me wrong, it’s really easy to hate on EA. But in this instance, I believe the negative press is completely justified.

It's insane to me that this is even a question these days. Nintendo really turned things around, and I am beyond impressed.
