The story in Half-Life 2 is passively presented. Unlike most other games, it's not just thrown in your face. The story is told through the condition of the city, the attitudes of the citizens and what they say to one another, the bulletins posted on walls throughout the game, and so much more.
It requires the player to use their brain.
I don't think Monolith have abandoned PC gaming. Their most recent game, Condemned 2: Bloodshot, was console exclusive but that was most likely a publishing decision on Sega's part. All of Monolith's games before that have been on PC. Monolith didn't even make F.E.A.R. for consoles--a third-party studio was hired to port those. I expect F.E.A.R. 2 to be pretty great on PC and have it be the definitive version.
At least it's optional. But damn, $20 for units. The game itself will be f'ing amazing, though.
It's coming out this year. The beta was pretty good. Not many features were implemented yet, but the core gameplay was fun.
No, I'm pretty sure the PS3 won't be getting this DLC, at least not at the same time as PC and 360 users get it. Bethesda has an exclusive deal with Microsoft.
Uprising is PC-exclusive and will be digital download only.
The various Linux distros use the same Linux kernel (obviously), but since Linux is open-source, the kernel is constantly evolving.
Without a demo, people won't know how the game runs or plays, so they are unsure whether or not to buy it. So their most convenient other option to test out the game is to pirate it, and once the full game is on their desktop they don't really feel like buying the game anymore. With a demo, they don't get to play the full game after trying the game out, so there's more of an incentive to buy.
It's based off of the Vista kernal, making it NT 6.1, but it is much, much better than Vista.
Doesn't make sense. People pirate because they want to know how the game plays and runs. Demos help stop piracy, so why not put out more demos?
A4-Games did not make S.T.A.L.K.E.R. GSC Game World are the developers of that series.
Well, the guy playing is absolutely terrible. Full automatic spraying at a target like 10 meters away? Srsrly nao.
Huh? These three units have already been revealed. The Colossus and Baneling were shown when StarCraft 2 was unveiled.
If Valve bought the project and sold it as a retail game, I think people would be extremely angry. I mean, people did cause quite an uproar when they got rid of The Black Box. Imagine what they would do if they made people pay for something that was supposed to be free.
There are people with jobs who have the money to afford these kinds of things.
They're not forcing you to buy these super expensive cards. There's a reason why they make cards that cost $100.
It is pretty great. Full version will be even better in terms of performance since the beta right now is running debugging code.
Heh, Bill Gates reported a 90% piracy rate in 1976.

Piracy will exist as long as people want things for free. You can't really do anything about it except live with it or develop a ridiculously restricting anti-piracy system that creates a very closed environment, but even that will be cracked in time.
GameSpot made a mistake. It's a fix for EAX.
This GT212 needs more ROPS. The increase in ROPS from G92 to GT200 was very little.
The beta expires in August 2009.
