Zeppelin refuses to license their songs. Harmonix tried to get the license in GH1 and 2, but they were turned down both times.
This box art is beautiful.
Trackmania Nations Forever is free, is an arcade racer, and is very addicting.
It's Microsoft.
They do things like this.
@Elven6
Steam is also a development platform. Valve released a tool for developers called Steamworks a few months ago that lets developers easily integrate things into their games like achievements, stat tracking, leaderboards, buddy lists, server browsers, and more. It's also free (for both the gamer and the developer).
The difference between a controller and a pointing device is that with a controller, you're using it in a rested position. With a pointing device, you're pointing it at the screen, and to do that you have to lift your arm in the air.
I think it'd look way better in red or black... or red and black.
This is just going to be a die shrink. Nothing major and certainly not a big enough of a deal to go through the hassle of stepping- or trading-up with EVGA and BFG, respectively. Lower power consumption, higher clock speeds, and maybe some minor changes to the architecture.
Touch screens and pointing devices like the Wiimote may seem cool and may look like they are the future, but they're not quite as versatile as the mouse. Also, they both will be tiring to use for extended periods of time.
I thought it read GameSpot for a moment there.
GameSpot had an event that was also called After Hours around two years ago.
A gaming PC is more expensive than a typical console, but it's not as much as everybody makes it out to be. I'd say $600 at the very least to build a gaming-capable PC that will play everything at a good frame rate. Around $800 to $1,000 to build a very powerful PC that will play everything at pretty much max settings, give or take a few things. You just have to know where to shop, which takes a bit more work than simply deciding on which console SKU to buy. But I think the end result is wort...
I hear Microsoft are going to make some big PC announcements at their Gamefest 2008 event starting July 22.
In my opinion...
Left 4 Dead > Resident Evil 5 > Fallout 3
Left 4 Dead just looks like pure fun, and I know it'll be an amazing experience seeing that it's being developed by Valve, which ensures that it'll receive the trademark "Valve polish". :D
PoSTedUP:
"yea i herd the first fallout was bad"
No, Fallout 1 and 2 are some of the greatest RPGs ever created.
However, Fallout 3 looks like it will severely disappoint fans of the first two titles. From what I've seen of Fallout 3, it's more first-person shooter than RPG, and that is very, very concerning.
Yes it is.
I agree with Robin Walker's gameplay philosophy. Instant respawn really screws with the map balance and just ends up in stalemates. The 15-second respawn allows for adequate time to capture a point before reinforcements arrive, thus keeping things flowing. People play instant-respawn servers because they don't like waiting, but the small wait actually makes a big difference in the gameplay and is there for the better. The only scenario I can think of where instant-resp...
One ending is good.
I'd rather have one good, satisfying ending than two or more terrible endings. *cough*BioShock*cough*
Ubi better not f' this up.
But I'm a little less worried since the engine and game started development exclusively for the PC.
It's been over a month since batch #40. :o
It's no longer a game of loyalty.
It's a game of business and money.
"Assassin" by Muse?
Oh god, I hope this is true.
The drums will be awesome.
