No, it is not news, but it is a story.
There will be some fees, but they haven't said on what specifically.
There will be NO subscription fee, though.
You seem to be misinterpreting this editorial. He is not saying that games are becoming too easy, he is saying that they are becoming too simple and hold the player's hands through the game. Where are the branching and open-ended storylines with choices that aren't black and white?; what happened to having a plethora of different character nodifiers to choose from that actually changed something in terms of gameplay?; and where are the games that don't hold the players hands? Why compare two different scenes?
I miss old SNL.
Let's not jump to conclusions just yet.
Battle.net will have fees, but whether they'll be fees on significant things like a friends list has yet to be determined.
I'm betting the fees will be on minor things like colored names, special avatars, and different colors for your in-game units.
My abacus laughs at your Super Nintendo.
You have to tie the CD-key to your account in order to play the game.
Geez, everything's leaking for the 360.
Fallout 3, Saint's Row 2, Gears of War 2, and soon Far Cry 2.
At least a pixel shader 2.0 graphics cards, which is anything equal to or newer than a GeForce 6 series.
Zeratul massacres a bunch of Hydras.
Awesome.
The demo will be available in August 2010 at the soonest.
Think of the alternatives.
I would not want StarCraft 2 with three average campaigns soon or StarCraft 2 with three very good campaigns 2 years from now.
I'd much rather have StarCraft 2 with one very good campaign soon, and two very good campaigns later.
Blizzard are perfectionists. I'm sure it'll be worth it.
Oh, and the multiplayer will be exactly the same. You will get the full multiplayer experience with the initial release, which is the most ...
Ah, damn. 360 version.
I want the PC beta.
Wow, is Kiefer Sutherland doing voiceovers in this game?
If so, that is awesome.
As for the gameplay, they really need to boost the weapon recoil. In the video, all the guy was doing was spraying with the Thompson and getting tons of kills. It's nice to see larger environments, though; the extremely small maps in Call of Duty 4 made grenade spam very annoying.
Yes, I still have it. It's in my closet.
Haha, awesome.

Yeah, it looks more like a straight up action game than survival horror.
But I guess that's what makes money nowadays...
Well, what do you expect from Africa?
It does have some forests, and Far Cry 2 has those, but it's mostly dry areas.
While it's my favorite FPS at the moment, TF2 doesn't really fit as well into the competitive scene as Quake or Painkiller. It certainly does have some competitive aspects, but it's more of a pub game (and there's nothing wrong with that).
