"Now 3-4 years later it's already obselete?"
I didn't see people making this complaint with the 7th console generation. Everyone was raring to go to get their 360's and PS3's and Wii's. Despite having gotten their Xbox, PS2 or Gamecube just a few years prior.
Funny how the attitude on that's all changed.
"but there needs to be an upgrade program to compensate for very recent XL/2DS owners."
You really don't think that there won't be a trade-in offer from places like Best Buy and Gamestop to get more people to upgrade to n3DS?
You are so wrong. Games are already using those buttons. And typically the games to use those extra buttons are some of the 3DS' biggest sellers/best games:
- Resident Evil: Revelations
- Monster Hunter 3 + 4
- Metal Gear Solid 3D
- Xenoblade Chronicles
- Super Smash Bros for 3DS
- Kid Icarus: Uprising
Shulk's in Smash. I'd only be surprised if they DIDN'T localize it.
Actually, the 3DS' hardware is more powerful than the Wii's hardware.
It also has better battery life. Which I imagine we all want.
Technically the PS2 was inferior to Gamecube and Original Xbox. We all see how that turned out.
@CBaoth
Releasing later models for consoles to be more powerful is nothing new.
The PSP got more RAM with each model. The new 360's have more RAM than the launch model 360's.
They already had custom faceplates in Japan. The only one I saw of which was the Monster Hunter faceplate. Good to see the concept finally coming to America.
Developer of the game has said it won't be only fighting types.
I don't think you know how leaks work. Nintendo had no part in the leak. They had as much control over leaks as From Software did when all those clips of Bloodborne leaked.
Yeah, and Ronald McDonald was behind 9/11
Dr Mario was a fan favorite. And his stat differences made him more preferable to competitive players. That with his unfinished data on Brawl disc's and it's apparent he was going to be in anyways.
"Nintendo does not need the Mercedes money"
Read about Nintendo's finances from the last six months and be amazed at how wrong you are.
It's not dead until they stop selling them.
There's only one reason why I'm getting this:
Even though the 3DS is more than capable of emulating SNES, GBA and maybe even N64 games they don't give that to the consumer to try and sell the WiiU(Which I feel is stupid and wrong). And if they won't give that to me. I'll just go to someone who can.
Homebrew here I come.
Mostly localization. Smash is a game with a lot of text which is far harder to localize than spoken dialogue.
Here's the thing though. PS4 has MORE 1080p games than Xbone. And when PS4 games aren't 1080p. They're usually 60fps. So either way PS4 is showing it's hardware superiority over Xbone.
I imagine it'll have the same kind of legs as any Musou game. Which is about 750k-1.25mil by the end of it's life.
It's a new console. It has:
- A more powerful CPU and more RAM. Enough to make it have exclusive titles over the old 3DS.
- A far superior battery life and the option to take out the battery and put a new one in. So if your battery shorts you don't have to ship it to Nintendo.
- Uses camera functions to track your eyes so you don't have to use the 3DS at super specific angles to get the 3D effect to work properly.
- Will be getting amazing exclusive...
