i do not, under any circumstances buy "hd" collections, seeing as;
#1 they are not even true hd most of the time the are 720p or less
#2 the pc has them all available for free if you own the original and can understand simple instructions on how to set up an emulator
#3 said pc versions look better, run in 1080p and support anti aliasing while these console remakes are just bad upscaled ports with almost zero anti aliasing.
...
i wanted them in 2010!
1280x720p (or much less in many current console games) is ANCIENT, heck, 1920x1080p is almost starting to get old to me, lately i have been playing many games in 2560x1600p.
the jaggies on ps3 and 360 are getting worse and worse as devs try to put more stuff into the gameworld, and the resolutions are going down in many cases, resistance 3 was 960x680, and it showed. uncharted 3 was very jaggie compared to uncharted 2 (i think the 3d im...
nextbox will be out in 2012 for sure, same with wii u, and hopefully a new playstation console is out this year too, these things have delivered awesome and incredible games, i think the well is dried up though, and we are seeing way too many part 3's and 4's, time for a reset, we need new consoles this year!
graphically and technically they peaked a few years ago, i have yet to see a game that looks better than god of war 3 and uncharted 2 on consoles, (uncharted 3 ...
best looking games this year, all on pc;
bf3, the witcher 2, crysis 2, shogun 2, hard reset, skyrim, trine 2, batman ac, serious sam 3, assassins creed revelations, there are so many more.
there are not any console games that even come within a generation of these games.
uncharted 3 looks a full gen behind everyone of those games maxed out on pc.
but damn uncharted 3 looks nice for a consoles games, personally i thought part 2 was ...
pass on the lame 1st person shooter version, i'm looking forward to a true x-com game, if thet happens is still in the air!
wii u and xboxnext 100% will be out this year, ps4 will either drop holiday 2012 or very, very shortly thereafter.
sony has nothing to worry about launching a new consoles. they will still sell a ton of ps3's years into the ps4's life, *see ps2 still selling everywhere 11 years later for proof
@hellvaguy
yeah, im hoping for a dual release halo 4, talk about a system mover
make it exact same content wise
but the nextbox version in perfect 1080p native, 60 frames constant with v-sync
tesselation
ssao
8x anti aliasing
and higher res textures
i'd be in line day one with my cash!
i'd say you need all these;
Starcraft 2
skyrim
witcher 1 and 2
bf3
shogun 2
neverwinter nights 2
bfbc2
tf2
counter strike source
mass effect 1 and 2
dragon age 1 (only one!)
baldurs gate 1 and 2 and expos
supreame commander 1
every stalker game
titan quest
diablo 2
oblivion
morrowind (with mods still looks great
gtaiv and mod it ...
Halo 4
Forza 4
Alan Wake 1 and 2
Gears 2 and 3
Perfect Dark
all will be on pc soon with windows 8
$200 price tag, memory cards WAY cheaper, until then, rough sales ahead.
personally though, i think it is worth more and i will be buying it, i just think for it to be a commercial craze (which i can care less about, but i do want it to sell very well so it will be supported properly) it needs to be cheaper.
still have not bought move or kinect for ps3/360, don't really play either of them that much except for a few exclusives here and there.
the kinect mods on pc do seem intresting, but everything on the 360 for kinect is not my thing.
no kids, and my wife likes good games, i don't gotta try and ease her into gaming with lame mini games. we're playing assassins creed 2-revelations right now, and skyrim together.
lol
really?
the new xbox will absolutely, for sure be out this year, you might even see a new playstation this year, and you will for 100% sure see a new wii.
ohh, and the vita
so 3 for sure, 4 maybe, new consoles/handhelds this year and possibly the ipad3, so 5 next gen devices for gaming.
keep dreaming though, about a world where ancient tech lasts forever, enjoy your vhs and cassestte tapes.
kinda want to go into cryostasis till december 2012 and just wake up on the day the steam sale starts, would save even more money that way, aside from a few key titles, i'm not buying too many games day one this year, that's really my resolution.
screw paying $45-$65 for a game, eventually, they'll be $5-10 on steam!
diablo 3, starcraft 2 HotS and guild wars 2 are day one though! Those, I won't be able to wait.
wow cool

*looks up with eyes half rolling back in head, big stupid grin on face holding a rifle*
"i already am....
in a world without consoles"
-honestly, besides dark souls, uncharted 3 and gears 3 i played everything this yea on pc. skyrim, batman, witcher 2, portal 2, bf3, plus about 50 games i bought on the steam deals this year...lol...love steam.
pc looks better, it's way cheaper,has mods, starcraft 2, steam, ohh, ...
it will be $199 by summer for the wi-fi model and the price of the (over-priced) memory cards will go down.
suk it patcher
this looks like an xbox1 game, circa 2004, are they serious?
i always make the mistake of buying an mmo right at launch, and while the game is quite polished and runs beautiful, it feels kind of hollow.
i'm sure people will disagree with me and that is ok, but World of Warcraft is a 10x better game, the world is more cohesive, the art style and vistas are better, the ui customization is non-existant in ToR, in wow you can fix everything, i HATE where the chat window is in ToR.
Plus, though the voice acting is good,...
for those afraid of not wanting to deal with builing a pc 100% from scratch, a good solution in my mind is pick up something like this;

or this;

i do, i own like 75 ps2 games, i keep all my games so i can emulate them later, same reason i still have all my ps3 game i never play, soon i'll be playing them in 1080p at 60 frames!
