Yea i dont think cod will do much for the vita or 3ds. The psp and ds had multiple cod's on them but its not the same as on consoles. Even with vita bieng able to run cod very well and with online i doubt anyones going to buy a vita to play cod when they need wifi so they might as well be on a console. What will push the vita is multiple big name games like gow, a new ff, mgs exc. 3ds didnt take off until mario land, mk7, and zelda oot were all released.
Everyone likes games some (like us) take it more seriously and expect longer deeper games. There are good games on phones but most people just play cut the rope, angry birds, and dumb apps that tell you if your an idiot. I wouldnt call them gamers like us so i dont think that counts really. I do think mobile gaming is real gaming though whatever people here say. It might not be console games but theres great games nontheless, alot of crap and casual stuff but some great games also.
I cant wait to get this and beyond the labrynth for my 3ds. Handhelds are the last bastion for jrpgs. Level 5 also has fantasy life for 3ds and hopefully ni no kuni comes to the us for the ds. That will make me very happy (even though its coming for the ps3 i want both).
A gamer plays anything fun on anything available and doesnt care what people think. People also say the ds is for kids but it has the biggest library of the deepest rpgs available. I play iphone games IN SPITE of the touch controls (which are good for certain games like rpgs, rts, td, and casual crap). Im so torn. On one hand i loved my psp (mostly due to cfw) and the vita is sexy sexy tech. Im sure it will have amazing games down the road by right now the only real interesting title is uncharted. Most games though seem like console games on a handheld as opposed to unique ideas (like uncharted, kz, resistance, lbp). I want games i cant play on a console. I loved it but that doesnt mean it didnt have problems. The stealth couldve been better, enemy ai was iffy, bosses sucked, and it needed more techie stuff (gadgets and whatnot) but the foundation for an outstanding franchise is there. Im hoping next gen ms makes gamerscore tied into a rewards program where every 5000 pts or so you get a free game or free avatar items. When i got my 360 i tried to buy a game with my gamerscore lol. I thought they were ms points, FACEPALM.
Mario Kart 7 is the best in the series idk what game you guys played. It has 8 circuits, 16 old tracks and 16 new tracks. It has 7 battle mode maps (although they left out double decker my fav one), online racing, trading ghosts, online battle mode with team or free for all. Samurai Sword for 3ds looks pretty good. Reminds me of the wii game muramusa but more of a brawler. Il try it if its cheap, alot of eshop games are overpriced. I hope nin really push the eshop, its getting good games but needs more cheap app type stuff, quality gba/ds games, and new stuff like pushmo and freaky forms (which are excellent btw). They also need more demos and free apps although they have some like swapnote, pokedex, and nin video.

Its crazy to me that we had liberty city stories because gta 3 wouldnt run well on psp and now our phones run it better looking than the ps2 even. I want buttons but honestly touch isnt as bad as people make it out to be. Chinatown Wars and that Gangstar game played perfectly using virtual buttons, not ideal but its more than playable imo. I bet in 5 years we will be playing current gen stuff on the go.
Syphon Filter. Forgot the 2 subtitles but they are top notch and from the guys who made resistance retribution and uncharted for vita. Also get portable ops if you like mgs. I liked it because it had crawling and human bosses which PW lacked. Crisis core, gow, kingdom hearts, socom fireteam bravo i think (the newest one), the newest jak and daxter, and really the more i think the more games i remember lol. All of those are great and action-y type games.
I think it will be off to a slow start until more games get released and it gets priced at 200 or under. Its a badass handheld but 250 is high enough where only the hardcore fans will buy it and the only big game for it is uncharted which isnt quite a system seller except to big ps fans. Once ff, mgs, gow, and cod drop sales will skyrocket like the 3ds. It def wont flop or die off but it wont be a hit until it gains steam. I cant wait for this. Im a huge mgs fan have every release from the series. Im glad its a remake and plays differently than mgs3, it seems more like peace walker. It would be a hard sell to me if it was the same game i already own but this looks like a new game. Hope it sells well so we get a twin snakes 3ds port and new portable mgs games on 3ds.
On one hand i dont want them to, i want nintendo to be nintendo and create unique classic polished games with creative and innovative ideas. On the other hand i think they should look to others because imo the 3ds would be even better with achievements, coins, trophies, or whatever they choose to call it. I would love to get a plat for zelda oot. They could also look at media functions and add youtube and they should DEF look at xbla for how to do the eshop. It works and has some killer games...
