I am happy with the elite 2 as well. I wouldn't mind them adding the haptic feedback and/or slightly weaker adaptive triggers to an elite 3 in the future though as I do enjoy those features on the DualSense.

I liked the triggers on dualsense when playing through the CoD Cold War campaign. I haven't played the multiplayer but I agree I would probably disable it for that use case but in a non-competitive mode I did like the different sensation it provided to each type of gun. I really liked how it made bolt-action feel different from automatic rifles.

That is probably true. Remember when both Sony and Microsoft infringed on patents owned by Motorola in the 360-PS3 era? This kinda stuff happens. And in the case where a violation occurs they simply pay a licensing fee. It isn't so cut and dry that one company can't do something. Especially with Sony using the Azure service from Microsoft they would probably play nice with something like this if it came down to it.

So you are fine with Sony stealing everyone else's idea except take issue with someone taking one of theirs? Sony didn't have joysticks until Nintendo did it with the N64. They didn't add a harddrive as standard until Xbox did it. They created PSN after Xbox Live. Everyone copies good ideas. It is how the industry as a whole moves forward. How stupid would it be if Xbox and Sony both said well Nintendo added joysticks to the controller but we better not do that because it wo...

I love the fanboy downvotes for just pointing out facts.........it is funny......keep it up.

_SilverHawk_, I used the wrong terminology when I said adaptive triggers on Xbox.....I couldn't remember what they called the motors......but regardless the point stands as it was something new.

1655d ago 4 agree26 disagreeView comment

To be fair, Xbox did add the adaptive triggers to their controller last generation. It isn't like they have never been innovative. They were the first to put a harddrive in a console, first to introduce a network service, etc.

Haptic feedback is something that existed in controllers prior to DualSense so that is something they could add to Xbox if they wanted to. I'm not sure about the triggers though.

I don't have a PSVR but I do have the Valve Index VR setup for PC. I do like VR but I can see where people like that may be coming from, but I feel like they just have the wrong word for it. It isn't a gimmick so much as it is really niche. It is a good experience for what it is but I feel like it would be a bad decision to make a full game like Skyrim in VR.............I know they have done it as I have played it......in a game like that I feel that VR is a poor place for it which...

DualSense is the first controller made by Sony that I really like. I would still prefer that they make a version with offset sticks but other than that I really like this controller. As far as the gimmick nature of the controller, I will say it has kinda turned into that. There have been a couple of games that utilized the controller well...mainly the Astro game but most games that have been released have felt very gimmicky in how they have used it. Some are so subtle that it did feel mor...

I don’t see the Series S holding the others back in that regard. The games can be tweaked differently like RE Village is doing. What we have seen in the past is games being held back within the Microsoft ecosystem due to a weaker console like in the Xbox One days but it shouldn’t have a bearing on PS5. This isn’t an impressive announcement so I can only assume it is because they are being tweaked in a backwards compatibility type of adjustment rather than running as a native current gen ap...

You are looking at this like both of these companies are people. Both of these companies have had different leadership over the years. The leadership at Sony at the time were more open to it during that era than Microsoft was but leadership has changed several times for both companies. Each has their own philosophy in regards to crossplay among other things.

Stop looking at this from the fanboy perspective and just look at crossplay as a concept. It is a good concept th...

The benefits of crossplay are obvious. Opens the door to play with friends on other platforms or allows you to have access to a larger player base for matchmaking. Your comment is either for trolling purposes or for console war stuff with both being idiotic.

I agree the game shouldn't have been released in the state it was. The part that I disagree with you and everyone else that seems to be missing this point is that you are blaming the devs for this when they had no say in the matter. It was the studio management who made that decision. Developers don't have a say in that type of stuff so it wasn't them releasing the game in the state that it was.

Look at it this way......piracy of video games through emulation basically exists because the companies haven’t provided consumers with a path to purchasing the games. There was a recent article about a fighting tournament that Nintendo cracked down on because they were emulating a 20 year old Smash game. Nintendo doesn’t offer the game for sale and finding a working machine might be a pain. If Nintendo just provided the game digitally or allowed you to purchase a rom to emulate then pirac...

That was just nothing but fanboy nonsense. I don’t even understand your PC point. Are you trying to say Microsoft is following the PC path of backwards compatibility with no innovation? If so I would like to see you explain how PC doesn’t innovate.

Marketing spins BC as a positive because it is. Sony fans should remember this as it was Sony’s selling point through the first three consoles until it became too difficult to support due to the drastically different archit...

One big issue is that developers were making games for the vita for instance and in some cases just recently purchased dev kits from Sony without being told the store was closing. So now they are out that money and dev hours making a game that can’t be released.

Sony could have designed a unified store front similar to Microsoft to allow you to purchase games for multiple platforms either on console or the web but they decided not to go down that road. It isn’t the end of...

Well there is a problem now with game sizes being so large the disc itself can’t hold the full game data and a download is required anyway.

Buying physical has its own set of problems with game preservation. If you scratch the disc you can render it unplayable which isn’t an issue with digital versions. The original plan for Xbox One included the ability to lend digital games but required drm to do so but everyone through a fit. I’m not sure there is a perfect plan out...

I'm honestly not sure where I fall on this one. On one hand you make a good point on stealth games if it was taken to that extreme. On the other hand I'm also very tired of some games just being clones of other games or stealing their ideas which to me stifles creativity in its own way as some business man can just tell devs to make a game like that instead of coming up with something original. I'm so tired of every game under the sun having a battle royale mode after the succe...
