Changing things up isn’t necessarily pandering. Look at Nick Fury from Marvel. He was just another boring character until they changed him to Samuel Jackson in both the movies and comics. This was definitely an improvement for the character and I don’t see anyone complaining that it was a forced diversity move because they were happy with the results.
The showcase had a few standouts being the Insomniac games, God of War, and possibly Forspoken for me personally. The rest didn’t really do much for me. I have seen enough of Deathloop at this point and the rest was kinda meh. That is only my opinion and it is possible the other games will be great as well but just wasn’t my cup of tea. Very excited for those few though.
I'm with you on the PC but I don't feel as strongly about the 100+ fps train. I'd rather the game look nicer than run better at 1080p. 60 fps is good enough for me on the response/smooth front.
The Uncharted games are pretty good in general. The original hasn't aged well but for the most part they are good games. The only thing that I never understood was why a certain bad guy would have so many henchmen. You can complete the game and see the stats where you killed like 1,500 dudes. PC players getting access doesn't take away from your enjoyment of the franchise. If your issue is the PS5 update being a paid one then I could see where you are coming from but in that case you wouldn't have to buy it and you could play the existing game via backwards compatibility.

Is it really what is best for them though? The sales of Returnal were shit because it was a new IP that people were not familiar with. Rather than pricing it a more reasonable price they stuck to their guns and charged $70 for it. People should be rightfully complaining about any kind of upgrade path since it is free on the equivalent platform. It would be like the same app being available on both Android and Apple stores but costing more on Apple because they know their fanbase will still pay it.

It isn't my favorite but I still really enjoyed it on PC. It wasn't on the level of Witcher 3 and they definitely deserve all the criticism they received but if you overlook the bugs and missing features it is still a good game. The amount of content is good and can extend over 100 hours. I've definitely played worse games.
The piece from DF doesn’t say there is no difference in temps from new and old version. Just that it still seems within spec and there would be no difference to the user as they perform equally. The first possibility is if the design was improved to more efficiently transfer heat from the chip to the heatsink. It depends on who you are. I prefer Sony’s ssd model because I know what I’m doing but I can see the benefits of Microsoft’s choice as well. They realize that a lot of parents out there will end up buying this expanded storage and a ton of people out there are not tech savvy. They may end up buying gen 3 drives thinking it only needed to be an m.2 if they even know what that is. The other solution is similar to a memory card and is easy for them.

This is what studios do when they are trying to get familiar with a new engine. It is part of the initial development costs. This is basically what was done when Gears of War 3 was converted over to PS3. They couldn't release the game obviously since it was an Xbox IP but the work was done so that they could get the engine running on the platform.
I would have voted for The Witcher 3 personally but definitely would vote for GoW over GTA.
