I agree on some level. I have played every single Souls game and loved every minute, but Dark Souls II is missing some of the charm of the first one. There are no NPC's that I really care about or really remember. Even the Maiden is a blatant copy of the black maiden in Demon's Souls, but without the charm. The bosses seem to have lost a little bit of that creative touch and I have killed about 5 of them and I honestly don't really remember them very well.
You should be out having fun and partying. THAT is what studying abroad is about.
It's a little surprising that more haven't said anything. Comparing it to Colonial Marines is a bit of a stretch because that game was just bad. Dark Souls II is a really solid game so far. It runs better than the original, and takes everything and just makes it a little better.
I don't think Deep Down can be stronger that the Souls serious. It doesn't even have an official name for souls sake. "Deep Down" is such a horrible unofficial title.

I actually agree. I usually give a fair assessment to everyone and try to find the reasonable in everything, but I hate this site. I was actually expecting it to be worse, but I hate Polygon.
