Alan wake PC is being self published for digital release by remedy themselves, Nordic games are publishing the box version of the game.
MS have nothing to do with PC version, due remedy wanting a steam release.
However you can read through the forum yourself on there official website and they have stated that PS3 version will not happen, but this has nothing to do with the reason you stated.
There is not even GPU's on the market today that could get good FPS at those resolutions so anything higher that 1080p is not happening.

The game is beautiful especially with all mods, but some rubbish 800x450 resolution shots are not going to do that justice.
You can only dream of 4k at any FPS. 4k is next to impossible even with monster graphics on market now.
1080p Is perfectly possible and is highly likely to be standard next gen. You only need to go back to say 4 series ati cards and you've got cards with ability to play most games at good FPS at 1080p.
So say Xbox next gen and ps4 have something on par with 5 series and N's 4xx cards and some optimization 60fps 1080p will very easy to pull off.
wii and ps2 are two of the most successful consoles ever. Both had piracy and hacking early on there life's. Piracy did not kill the PSP.
They are self publishing this. That is why it will have steam support. So yes Its possible however unlikely they could make it for PS3.
With a team of 50 though and the fact MS will want them work on other projects probably Alan wake 2 its unlikely they could do it.
Being someone who still continues to buy disc copies of PC games when ever I can. For me It will be a sad sad day when I can't have a physical copy of a game.
You expect Sony to get 8gb of XDR ram ? If Sony stick with cell+XDR ram setup then you will get no more than 4gb as its still very expensive for them. So at best they go with a combo of XDR and DDR3 2*2 so 4gb.
Now at end of the day it seems people in here have no clue at how much ram is really needed. You seriously do not need 8gb. BF3 for instance on max settings DX11 on top of an OS uses 1.9gb of my 16gb DDR3 ram.

The 360 was announced on MTV in may 2005, so It's possible they could do something similar. I remember rumours back then '' oh no MS would not announce on MTV'' an announcement is about shock you can announce at E3 when it's expected or you can announce it when no would believe it to be announced.
