Is it weird that I can't shake Sahara comparisons when looking at the screenshot used in the majority of previews where he's in front of the burning plane? Not to say it will have any similarities to that movie, but I just keep wondering where Steve Zahn's at.
Lovely.
The getting choked from behind while kicking a guy coming at you is probably an example of the "fight multiple enemies at once" thing listed among Uncharted 3's features.
Wow some people have no sense of humor on here... jesus.
Now I'm pretty well-off, financially speaking. But DAMN! I've got over $500 of Sony exclusives alone to buy next year, and that's assuming I get discounted rates from MSRP.
(For example, Gears of War 3 is $40 on Amazon right now, almost a year before release. Why can't Sony follow suit? Oh, that's right... they don't really care anymore. They just want to kick my wallet while it's down. You stay classy, Sony.)
My only concern for this game is the babe factor. You can't fault the graphics, you can't fault the gameplay (from what I've seen and previous Uncharted titles), you can't fault the voice acting, the story will probably be fantastic... however, Uncharted 2 had one thing down better than almost any other game I can remember, with the exception of Miranda in ME2. It would be fair to say, after all, that Drake had him some big booty bitches in Uncharted 2. Let's hope Sully...
Sony's on a tear... a complete, total, all-out fucking tear.
2011 will be the best year EVER in terms of games, including multiplats in addition to the assortment of 15+ PS3 exclusives.
Just Like You Imagined can hype anything. Worked for 300, worked for this.
Plus the possibility of Agent and Versus... but if they fail to come before the year's end, guess what? We'll start 2012 off with Agent, Versus, maybe Starhawk, and probably Demon's Souls' successor. (Edit: Project Dark actually isn't exclusive, just found out)
I don't think the guy writing the article understands that certain engines allow more things to be done by the developers. For example, you could maximize the hell out of an older engine as a dev, but with a better engine you could put in less work and still have a far better looking game that runs smoother.
Side note: It seems like someone is angry that ME2 is upgraded for the PS3 rather than a shitty port.
This is what I've repeatedly said and been lambasted for on this site. Russell knows how to direct a damn movie, and Marky Mark is fine (good, actually) when he has a decent script to work with.
1. God of War
2. GT5
3. Heavy Rain
4. Mass Effect 2
5. RDR
I'm going to stop there.
The Throne is awesome. Who was the master of the third peak?
If memory serves me correctly, it was:
Peak 1 - Mac
Peak 2 - Nate
Peak 3 - Psymon
Blasphemy! Me as Psymon racing my brother as Moby down the entire mountain in SSX3 is one of my fondest gaming memories ever. I had cinder-block feet for god's sake! Cinder-block feet I tell you!
Tonight's going to be one of the rare cases where rape is fun to watch.
(Sony's going to rape Microsoft on live television tonight, in case you hadn't heard)
I just look at the game and see if it looks like something I'd like. I'm really skeptical about games under 80 though, however I realize that sometimes (most times) it's personal taste. I mean, something like Rock Band or Guitar Hero could score a 100 for all I care, but I'm not going to buy them since I like playing real instruments and save gaming for stuff that I can't do in real life (I'm not big on Sports games either, for the same reason).
Well, come on. Nobody wants to "show-off" their game when graphics is it's major selling point, but have it next to Uncharted 3. I can see it now:
Cliffy B - "The best graphics you've ever seen!"
Naughty Dog takes the stage right after - "Until now..."
*Cliffy B cries in corner*
Can't wait for the live gameplay demo on Monday night!
They prefer you capitalize the G.
That IS what I implied there, haha. Apparently 2 people think Uncharted's MP was bad.
As a reviewer for Edge, and I believe I speak for all of us back at headquarters, I can safely say that from what we've seen this game will receive nothing more than a 7/10 from us. It is simply too realistic looking, but at the same time it doesn't feel entirely like real life. Thus, for entering the uncanny valley area, we feel it should be penalized heavily enough to discourage others from buying it. They need to be warned.
