It looks like Killzone 2, awesome.
Have you tried OnLive? It works pretty good. It's not perfect but for still being in the BETA the results are very promising. I think the authors point about Steam was to use it as an example of how much more open Sony is with developers.
I think your point about a solid internet connection is dead on. I think that it would be pretty much the only thing stopping one of the big three from trying the idea out.
I love Bioshock 1 and 2, they are my favorite games this generation.
Top 5 for me
The Darkness
Bioshock
Bioshock 2
Mass Effect
Uncharted 2
I recently bought Dragon Age and I got about 30 hours in, suddenly the difficulty ratcheted up big time. I hope Dragon Age two is better.
This game was worth 60 bucks when I bought it and I would still pay 60 for it, even though the MP is a lag ridden nightmare on PS3.
"Third person shooters and FPS are two entirely differnt things, and shouldnt be compared in this instance."
I totally agree. Another thing that gets me is graphical comparisons. People always over look how much the art direction in a game influences the graphics that are the end result.
I honestly don't care as much about evolution of FPS game play at this point, as I do about FPS evolving in the way they tell a story. After getting my hands on Mass Effect 2 finally, I don't see why there hasn't been a FPS that has incorporated the same depth of story into their games.
I don't get why people say Bioshock 2 failed. It was similar and the overall story wasn't as good, but it retained that same sense of atmosphere. Sophia Lamb was awesome, I enjoyed her rantings.
It does look better, but it really is a bunch of minor graphical stuff. Obviously lazy development, but at least the game play is in tack.
This takes the cake as one of the biggest flame war bait articles.
Example: Calling Mass Effect 2 a bad PS3 port of a 360 exclusive.
This article should be deleted and sent back to the blank ass mind of the 12 year old who wrote it.
You are a fool if you paid 80 bucks for a Call of Duty game.
I'm 3 hours in and tired as hell this morning, because of it.
People that bitch so much about Black Ops either have a bad internet connection, don't know how to play, or ared just jumping on the hate bandwagon. I was in the last column, until one day I realized that there are some minor connection issues, but at the end of the day Black Ops is fun as hell to play and a TON of people play it.
With that said, I'll drop it like a fly when Killzone 3 comes out next month.
Finally!!! They fixed second chance. That was such BS getting an assist when you did all the work.
I think it's sad that this guy has made a site dedicated to pointing out other people's grammatical errors, while at the same time, not pointing out his own.
I just got this in the mail today!!!
I thought it was decent. It made me understand what was going on.
I normally don't get all fanboy about reviews or anything, but 8.5? He makes it sound like everything but the transitions is improved from Killzone 2 yet gives it almost a full point lower score.
Good thing I don't listen to reviews and just buy games that fit my individual tastes.
IGN is going down hill.
