I was really looking forward to this, but now I'm not sure. I'm more worried about how I would feel about the game 2 weeks after I got it. I'm still playing Battlefield 4... Do you think Evolve will have that kind of staying power? I'm honestly asking you as a gamer.

I would still prefer the wider aspect ratio. It is closer to our actual field of view. There were a few HDTVs produced at the 2.33 to one aspect but I don't think you can get one now. My next TV will not be aTV at all. Now that the lumin standards have come up so much, and prices have came down so much, I will be making the move to projection.

Not talking about the game, but in movies, I always want the full aspect ratio that the movie was shot in. Otherwise you are missing part of the movie. They have not added black bars, there is simply not image there. To fill a screen with a lesser aspect ratio they use a technique know as pan and scan, where they zoom in on the image (killing resolution), and pan around the image to follow the action.
If you like that crap, use your TVs fill function. Don't hope for the ...

Still... Uncharted will be a better bet for game of the year than Tomb Raider. Don't get me wrong... I still own every Tomb Raider that was ever made, and love the franchise. Well... There were a couple that were kinda a mess, but I still bought them, and played them, but even with the awesome reboot, it lacks the magic that Uncharted has. I never gave a damn about any of the characters in Tomb Raider, and, as a matter of fact, don't remember any of their name...
You have to"survive" to make it through the game. ;)
