I read somewhere that Dead Space started off as System Shock 3 but after Bioshock came out EA scrapped what they worked on and then Visceral Games used the existing technology and made dead Space.

When will manufacturers learn that people are smart enough to differentiate between bad hardware to good one. I fully agree with the article that companies need to start going with the "Simple and Functional" and not with the "Better looking, bigger and badder". Retailers also need have better consumer relation when it comes to setting people with the right hardware ,and this is the most important part, teaching them about how to work with it.

MS was banking this game to be a system seller. Mind you the PC version was a part of early development until MS decided that the game was only going to be out for the 360. The lame excuse they used at the time was that the wanted to focus on a single version to ensure quality.
Yup. These days the term "loyal fan" just means that you get the expensive end of the stick. I am sick of paying douoble the amount for being a loyal fan while people who are not get the GOTY edition with all the dlc included for the same price as the release day version. Not to mention that bethesda games tend to be so wonky that ot takes them a few months to iron out all the bugs. For example, i gpt the GOTY edition of Borderlands for $40.
At least this game is none canon.
