This is a great opportunity, XBox players need to understand that indies can be good as well.
By the way, the game will also be released on PC and won't require too much graphical power. So there you go.
People buy consoles for 2 reasons: Exclusive games and the "plug and play" aspect.
If Windows 10 is apparently easy to use and on top of that offers the XBox exclusives...
Do we really need the XB1 on the market?
If you want a Platinum Game that actually feels like a Platinum game, you can play Nier Automata on PS4. It already looks better than ScaleBound.
You know you have a good engine when you beat Star Wars Battlefront and Metal Gear V.
The Order is not crap, even the story is better than what we usually get in these 3rd person shooters and the gameplay is passable.
The main issue (just like with Ryse: Son of Rome) was the campaign. The developer needed at least 1 more year, I'm pretty sure that if the game was at least 16 hours long, the critics will have been way more forgiving.
Story wise I really doubt any game, movie or book will ever reach me as much as The Last of Us did. The only media (imo) that manages to still surprise me after playing The Last of Us, is anime. Japanese writers are simply the best. Lets hope FF15 is also a story master piece!
Plot Twist. The Wii U crashes the console wars with no survivors.
Until Dawn for me. Pretty much because of the money gamble.
Giving a high budget to a relatively small developer can go pretty wrong.
We all know what happened to Ready at Dawn and their first high budget game: The Order 1886.
But Supermassive Games managed to establish a great new IP and secured their future as a developer with Until Dawn.
The way I see it, Microsoft understand human nature. They wanted to win Global sales at least for a week, and use this momentum as PR to set the idea in our minds that the XB1 can beat the PS4. So they condensed all their efforts and games in one single attack: November 2015. Instead, they lost NPD.
Microsoft has the same chances of catching up with the PS4's console market share, that they have competing against Steam on PC: Zero
Tomb Raider is easily a top 5 of 2015. But it doesn't top the big hitters of the year, either commercially or critically. The Witcher 3, BloodBorne, Metal Gear V, FallOut 4 and then Tomb Raider.
Variety is the name of the game with PlayStation.
Best Action Adventure: Uncharted
Best Racing Simulator: Gran Turismo
Best Fighting Game: Street Fighter
Best Western RPG Franchise: Persona
And now best Horror: Until Dawn
BloodBorne's sequel is pretty much confirmed. But what I really want to see is Miyazaki's take on a God of War game. Let Santa Monica do the engine, while From-software takes care of the gameplay and level design. Gamer Porn.
We all know where Kojima's heart belongs. To me, Metal Gear V is a 90/100 game, and I also believe that exclusivity could have pushed this game to be perfect.
Everything is debatable, but in my opinion:
Best Action Adventure: Uncharted
Best Racing Simulator: Gran Turismo
Best JRPG Franchise: Persona
Best Fighting Game: Street Fighter
The PS4 is getting all that and more in 2016. Isn't that crazy?
That's what I'm saying. How can anyone talk about a JRPGs war without mentioning what I consider to be the most quality consistent JRPG franchise: Persona.
Did Japanese developers hate the PS3 and last gen in general?
I mean, it can't be a coincidence.
The plot twist.
Hackers announce attacks on PSN and XBoxLive: Steam breaks.
Best horror game of 2015.
Email + Billing address + Last 2 digits are used by a lot of companies to verify your identity and make changes on your account. This is really really bad.
One of the first "Cinematic" games that I remember playing.
Graphics have come a long way XD
