History tells us Nintendo’s next console will be underwhelming in the hardware specifications. Sure it will be newer, naturally newer tech should be better in some way. For you to say steam deck a waste of time would imply you want Nintendo to hold the monopoly in the handheld gaming market? Which is very ignorant. Steam deck is just the beginning and will improve over time.

Good list. I would add that they need to completely separate MW2 from the other games and warzone. Like I literally don’t want to see anything other than the game I want to play get installed. With the way they have been doing things we will have:
MW1, MW2, Cold War, Vanguard and Warzone all on the same application. Which is completely ridiculous.

No way there will be mid gen upgrades imo. I can see them doing “slims” or redesigns though. Literally all they need to do is produce more consoles, eventually add storage options and completely cut off last generation hardware. Once games are designed without the obvious limitation of last generation hardware we will start seeing the results everyone is looking for.

Take need for speed heat, make the map larger. Flip the police to be more intense in the day time and less intense at night. Or just remove cops completely at night like OG underground. I want the police to be more like NFS Most Wanted 2005, Heat has some really intense police activity that felt overdone at times. Customizable trunks, engine bays, sound systems, Odometers, neon lights. Bring back sponsors, we need dedicated Drag Racing. Proper Wheel Support.

Yeah If they improve the music switching and let us deselect songs then I would be a lot happier. Or even just the ability to skip songs. I hate the VROOM song and the Sky High Mountain screech song so much! Notifying us of potential rain would be cool too, then you could adjust your car a bit more efficiently before the race.
Or even just backwards compatibility on Series consoles. I would love to replay Underground 1+2 and Most Wanted 2005.
I’m just assuming that they can’t just unlock the frame rate because even at 30fps the game suffers from some severe frame pacing issues. Unlocking the frame rate could make it worse. VRR would help resolve some of these issues, it would probably be the easiest way to achieve a doubling in frame rate. Though there could still be issues with animations designed around 30fps.
I am hoping that after PS5 gets the much needed VRR update Sony will unlock the frame rate in Bloodborne.
Or 3D audio. Capcom can’t put clear directions on how to get the 3D audio settings correct to save their lives.

It is for sure. As an original Battlefield 1942 veteran I simply can’t ever trust they will make a decent game again. I hate to say it but this years Modern Warfare 2 will completely obliterate 2042 and any hope it has to thrive. The Battlefield as we knew it is gone.
