What a load of S$&@! What about violent movies and shows, board games, books, magazines? I could go on. If they are going to attack video games then it should be fair for them to target other people’s hobbies too. It’s just stupid. Don’t talk about things you don’t understand.
@KyRo
“petty fan boy” ? Really? Really!? You know what I don’t get is how all y’all Epic Games Store supporters clearly fail to see the anti-consumerism that Epic is practicing.
Does Steam pay for exclusive rights/early releases on their platform? Prohibiting CONSUMERS from buying the game on their preferred platform? When Epic didn’t publish or develop the games?
Sure I get that the developers should get more money and it’s nice for ...
I mean... “Brighter” but man if you have never owned a PlayStation you just don’t know what you’re missing. At the beginning of each generation I tell my self I’m only going to get one console but I always cave for some reason or another and end up with them all haha. However if I could only pick one it would be PlayStation, it has never disappointed me. Oh and I freaking loved the N64!
It’s just damage control. Phil is already accepting defeat on console sales by saying that’s not what they are going for. They are playing a risky game. I hope it works out for Xbox but I am just not interested in streaming yet. I like to own physical copies and collect them. I wonder if they will release an entry level streaming box and then the Scarlett? I just don’t see it going the way they want/plan.
@ OathBreaker
Care to elaborate on where you think Sony is weak? In which boxes they don’t “tick”? I’m legitimately curious where you think Sony needs to improve out of the areas you called out.
I’m waiting.
Was thinking to same thing haha 🤣
If you love Star Wars then yes you should be excited, though you should probably keep your expectations in check. I think it looks good. It has a slower, more methodical type of gameplay we haven’t really seen in a Star Wars game. I do think dismemberment would be very cool and I hope they implement that. Graphics look good, voice acting good. They need to capture the atmosphere and character development though, otherwise it will end up feeling very mediocre.
Here’s hoping ...
That’s true! I’ll have to wait and see what the system requirements are. My PC was a beast 2 years ago haha.
Ahhh what to do what to do. I have a feeling I’m really going to want to platinum this game but 4K on the X sitting on my gaming chair sounds a bit glorious. There’s also the PC version.... gahhh
I’m no engineer but I believe that both Scarlet and PS5 will be similar in design, however there may be differences where they will both have some little strengths over one another. For example Sony using some kind of custom memory interface attached to their SSD tech and Microsoft going for overall higher specs while still offering a similar price to PS5. I actually hope they aren’t exactly the same because I look forward to the Digital Foundry Tech Analysis and comparisons.
My thoughts exactly man. Microsoft has the resources and money to make great games, but will they? Will they take risks creating new IP’s? Will they let their development studios make games that they are passionate about?
Microsoft just doesn’t get it. They don’t understand what gamers really want. We want new, fresh and polished experiences. We want them to succeed. I want to be able to say yes to every question I asked but I fear they will never learn that lesson.
Ha! The Console Wars crack me up. Of course Sony is going to stay in the lead. Maybe not completely dominate Xbox but they will always school them. Sony leads, Microsoft follows. They copy ideas from one another and that’s okay. We need competition so innovation can keep happening. I love all console gaming and own every one from this generation but if I had to choose it would always be PlayStation. They know the way to my digital heart.
@ _Larzen_
You are making a lot of assumptions and false statements. Yes NOW is not that great but what kind of game streaming technology does Microsoft currently have and have had for years? Making a PARTNERship was a good move on both their parts. They have a common enemy now with google.
Sony hasn’t pushed forward with hardware or software? Okay no. PS4 Pro came out a year before the Xbox one X and for $100 less. What did you expect? Sony to release a...
You make it sound like Sony came crawling to Microsoft for help. It’s called a joint partnership. They are working together to better the advancement of game streaming technology. Sony- Years of experience streaming games + Microsoft- powerful streaming infrastructure = a great opportunity for both companies. I really wish people wouldn’t be so biased and close-minded. And if you really think Sony is just sitting around and not working towards the future then you are going to be very butthur...
Every single generation end an article like this shows up. Seriously. We can stop asking the question when we actually cross the uncanny valley in graphic design and have the means of see it come to light. Until then we will always have new hardware. By the time we have the network infrastructure to provide 4K streaming, advances in technology will render it a less desirable option for core gamers.
@ Chaosdreams
Couldn’t have said it any better than myself!
I was really really hoping for Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005. Great support though. Really happy with what they released.
Or
Xbox 2
Then
Xbox 2X
And so on
@UltraNova
4X the power doesn’t necessarily directly translate to 4X the Teraflop performance. However, you never know. Could be some crazy advancements.
They should just release remastered versions of Most Wanted 2005 and Underground 2 on the same disk. With updated visuals and 60fps. Original music and an option for new music. That would be freaking sick!
