Why remakes? I just don't get it. Look, I love Syphon Filter and played it a LOT back in the day, but still. Same goes for Final Fantasy VII. Strap in guys (and girls, for the politically correct of you out there) another generation of endless downloading, patches, DLC, and day one updates are upon us!
Seems as though this game is a throwback to the more 'old school' 3D action/platformer genre (akin to the likes of Crash Bandicoot, which would make sense - given it's designer) I suppose it's entirely possible the game feels dated, but I can't help but feel this game will generate a small, yet loyal, following thats satisfies and scratches that nostalgic itch for a lot of people.

It's FAIR for our expectations to raise (or...Ryse *ba-dum-tish!) it's fair to expect something that looks new, fresh and unique. This just fucking fails at all of that and doesn't seem to have the personality of Bayonetta, Devil May Cry or any other reputable game in it's genre. This game has really jumped on my radar as of late. It seems to be doing rather well among the critics and comes across as a really solid title!
