I can understand why the Europeans are upset about being shut out of events like the Ninja Party. I'd like to however say that it's currently worse to be in the same region as the US and be shut out completely from both the PSP3000 AND Ninja Party.

I don't see the difference between this and MAME. MAME's primary focus *is* preservation. One of the criticisms of MAME is that it's too slow, but the main reason for it's speed is its accuracy. Sounds the same to me.
They'll probably be basing a lot of their emulator on the MAME source code.
