That´s exactly how it is, but they have started to chew on each other now. In the matter of fact, the SJW empire is falling apart. That´s also the main reason why people such as Leigh Alexander, have started to get really desperate. Because they know that their time is up. That has already happened a handful of times, just take the new COD game for example (bad reviews). Anita whined about the new Lara game, as she showed too much skin...

And you are right mate, because it is the modern version of book burning. One should also keep in mind that the SJWs doesn´t "just" target games. No, they target books, movies, comics and even sports as well.

Kotaku has been bashed by everyone and everything for the last couple of days. Devs, publishers, Gamers, you name it. Even so, it seems like there are very few people who know that Kotaku has been around for almost 12 years of time (not even I knew that). My point would be this, how the hell have they managed to stay alive for such a long period of time?

If you read some of Play-Asia´s tweets, then it´s quite clear that it´s more to it than just "biz". And the same could be said about Huniepot as well. As far as I know, very few devs, retailers (direct2drive in this case) and publishers has said (or done) anything at all to stand up against the SJWs. So imo, it´s better than nothing.
I think that most of the Gaming community feel the same way as you do. Personally, I had enough of them around August-September last year.
