It´s a risky move for sure, and since the "Broken Age" crowdfunding campaign had quite a "few" problems along the way. One might wonder how smooth things will go for "Psychonauts 2"? True, Tim did state that they would pay for most of the costs themselves though (time will tell).
I understand where you´re coming from, since I bought the original game for myself and my two brothers on release. I´m very tempted to do that, but since Tim has said (and done) some really "not so smart" things in the past. I´ll just wait until the game launches instead. To be fair, she probably couldn't spare a dime. As she´s begging her "fans" for money on Twitter several times per day.
I would not bet any money on it, since it´s bound to happen.
Actually, it has a lot to do with freedom of speech and creative freedom then anything else (sadly enough it seems like McGee´s sister has been caught in the cross fire of this). That´s also why we did an interview with Ken Levine on the subject not so long ago (the very same subject which McGee has stood up for yet again).

Yes, Mercy Covington has been gone for 24 days now. So it´s really important that everyone does what they can to help McGee to find Mercy asap!
They want money, fame and influence. And in my opinion, It´s rather scary that people such as Miss Wu get so much attention (even though she hasn´t created anything out of interest).

Sadly enough, the SJW plague is not isolated to DOAX3. As for the part about not selling to well in the west, I am yet to see some sales figures before I comment on that one. However, It leans more towards being a combo of a PR-trick and the SJW movement than anything else.
