If they did allow homebrew apps maybe they could get a decent web browser on the ps3.

The online pass doesnt transfer over to whoever buys a used copy. Thats the main problem. It adds cost to the used copy of the game if you wanted to play online, which for a game like MK is pretty much given. Also considering that some ppl rent games, dealing with online passes for that is just plain retarded.
It would be like having to pay a fee to pump your own gas.
Im pretty glad their online pass has failed so miserably they had to do this. Hopefully someone learned something from this.

It makes sense for some people. It does cost storage to collect games and obviously the price someone pays for used games is based on what its worth at any given time. A shop that specializes in its market of used games of course would have a min/max scenario where you do not get very much for your trade in. Anyone expecting to make a good trade at a place like game stop is ignorant or doesn't care.

The decision process to throw a hadoken is about as kiddie pool as their overall direction with focus dash cancel additions. They even simplified the button motions, ie df df P instead of d,df,f p. The real clincher here is the 3ds having completely automated motions and combos off a single "tap" on a screen.

Most of what he said sounds like scripted sony PR but the few tidbits of info he gave pretty much confirm that they are putting more effort into portables, unlike the current efforts with psp.
I can see this work if it actually gives you something besides "online play" which was already free. If it is access to continued dlc or bug fixes or premium stat tracking then Id be ok with it.
