One certainly cant rule out literally having the CELL in the PS4 for BC...
afterall, its what Msft is doing in the next Xbox.. their going to have the Tri-core in the just for BC.
I love the cell and all, loads of raw horsepower, but did you not hear the bitching the devs did this gen?
They need a tuned drift car for a drift track of a PS4..
What they dont need is a American muscle car on a drift track. 800Hp without devs using it is useless.
Next gen,the emphasis is powerful GPU, I dont mind 4AMD Steamroller cores and a 2Teraflop AMD GPU. With console level optimisation... just imagine...

Sony has patented a way to use multicore CPU architecture to emulate the Cell. With rumored APU and discreet GPU (rumored 8Series AMD ) I dont see how it would be impossible.

Hate to break it to you dude, the Watson twitter account CONFIRMED afterwards it is NOT power7. They apolygised. However according to Devs, its 3 wii cores and is having problems rendering many characters on screen simultaneously in DW7.
Also.. they may have upped the GPU power since the original dev kits.. but a year ago they packed a HD4850.

But the reviews are really being biased and hating beyond measure here.
We know the 3DS is the media darling of portables, but hating the Vita games (harsh on every Vita game) is pathetic.

So, my 2 cents, its 1)there to make it harder for pirates to replicate.
2) There to charge devs more for Ninty to manufacture.
3)Maybe it reinforces the disc further.. which wouldnt make much sense...as its not like the disc is spinning 500rpm in there lol
