Clearly, this machine wants to take a bite out of the 360s market share for shooter fans.. and given Gabe Newells appetite.. he is going to take one huge bite of it.
Valve is not famous outside of the PC Crowd and the shooter crowd. I think the scary assumption we're making however is that its launching as a Valve product. Remember the articles stating visits by Apple execs to Valve HQ?
If they launch it as a Apple-Valve venture.. you know the sheep are going to eat it up. Even if they make it $1000. If it has an Apple logo, Apple sheep always think its worth buying. Their awefully delusional and mostly fake.
Most devs will take the easy way out.. as we saw early this past gen with the PS3 ports that churned out. You must also realise, they will always focus on the lowest common denominator, that is the basic Wii U system that doesnt come with the pro controller.
I just dont see how Newell is going to compete..
Right out the box, they dont have EA supporting this ( EA= Origin)
Then, cost. Msft and Sony are both running AMD components next gen. Msft may run 1-2APUs and a GPU. Sony 1-2 APUs and a GPU also, their both aiming at 400-500dollars launch price.
If Newell went and built a living room PC, his Intel options are pricey.. up to $300 for a CPU alone?
Also, he could go with AMD.. though we all know they arent the ...
If you liked this, Go buy GTA :SA from the PSN store. I was hesitant as its a bit more expensive than other games.. but what a nostalgic trip it is! Man, that game has aged well, the ideas Rockstar had in 2004! Also, it was my 1st PS2 game I got off PSN (isnt HD) and Im playing on a 47' LG FHD LED Tv.. I was concerned how that was going to look, but after activating the texture smoothing and putting it in widescreen. It looks great.

Hey Reggie, you see what you did here? you promised the Wii U crowd their going to get the hardcore games. Now its going to be questionable from a business point of view to release DS2 on Wii U. If they take the time to port it to Wii U and sell 100 000 copies.. they wont consider making the sequels again for the Wii U.
