It can be their biggest weakness too though. While that drive produced the DS, Wii and Switch it also created the Wii U (although that system is the least unique of the lot).
When it comes to games though I think it can only be seen as a strength for them because I think their game lineups are by far the most diverse of the big 3 almost every year.
Then bump the visuals down... Not like every other Dev does that to get their games running on consoles.
If SE was able to entertain the idea of FFXV on Switch then I fail to see how MH:W isn't something they can pull off.
Yeh especially this gen. Weren't the first 2 years of the PS4 and XB1 filled with ports and collections?
Yeh sorry stop bragging about remote play.
It's not as good as your claiming unless input lag is your thing and that's when I'm using at home. It's like if I were to praise Nintendo's attempt at voice chat. It's there but it's a terrible way to implement a feature.
Yeah it's incredibly subjective. My favourite exclusives throughout the years are mostly Nintendo games but my most played games are all on PC.
I can't see myself having put 4000 hours into any of the big 3's games like have for Dota 2 but that much playtime doesn't even rank it in my top 10 games.
Just shows how subjective things can be.
It's been a long time but it'd be great to see some of Nintendo's other franchises have a chance to branch out into other genres.
If you think about it though Mario: Odysseys capture mechanic is kinda similar to Kirby's inhale ability which shows how Kirby could easily translate into a 3D platformer.
I feel like the success of Mario Odyssey proves that a 3D Kirby is easily possible.

"I just like how all the people who for the last 5 years said sales don't matter now can't stop shouting about sales."
Pretty sure Nintendo fans were talking about sales during the Wii U era. Especially the strong attach rates of Nintendo games for the system.
Also I agree that Nintendo isn't hated... Unless all of a sudden they begin threatening the fanboys of other systems here. Then this place...
It can be both can't it?
Shovelwear will always make it onto systems.
As long as it doesn't get as bad as it did on Steam at one point then there's not too much a problem
"And it is, as a gamer for me is total fail, as for the Wii was horrible too because most game effing sucks, still that thing sold like crazy but for all the wrong reasons, it didn't benefit any game developer in that time, tell me one game that got famous all the way to today from that time besides Mario, Zeldas or Pokemons?, there is none!, the game industry didn't benefit one damn bit from the Wii, it was a huge damn headache!"
Just Dance.... I named on...
@edeprez
We need to stop this "New IP therefore incapable of selling" narrative.
If Sony was some no-name dev/publisher it would be difficult but they're far more recognised than that.
Price is going to be an issue too.
"Yes, you literally are purchasing a game and actual cardboard to create what Nintendo calls Toy-Cons. There are two separate bundles that have been announced: the Variety Kit ($70) and Robot Kit ($80)."
I think that just seems too steep when your purchasing the system and making your target demographic kids.
I mean credit for such an inventive idea but I'm not sure how easy it is to make this kick off without a heavy amount of advertising.
Hmmm the name not being direct suggests that there's a different focus on the purpose of this livestream compared to your typical direct. Even the website says it's specifically focussed on kids so not sure what to make of this.
With all that said it may still show something really good.
I can see both Bayonetta 3 and Pokemon being a Q4 release.
Pokemon in maybe October/November and Bayonetta 3 as a December release perhaps?
@Jackhass
I don't think it's that simple of a tradeoff.
Story tends to be a case of how far the studio leads want to go with the plot/narrative and how talented a team of writers you can get but even then things can fall flat. Then there's the rising cost of voice actors and I'd be willing to bet your average AAA has more VAs than they did maybe 10 years ago.
Probably doesn't help that they're having to develop ...

Please do not do things like this. If you want to respond to his comment but are unable to do so in the original thread there is a PM option in which I've had many lengthy discussions with other users. Use that instead of making off-topic posts.
@Neonridr
Personally, I dont think I'm interested in actually buying this as I would any other game. I may, however, pick up one the kits to see what its like because it...
