Because this article is saying Microsoft is going to win next gen because it has cloud streaming and I am just saying that most people keep saying that's not what they want.
If anyone is making excuses it's the author of this article.
Is your memory so short that you don't remember that xbox one was called that because it was the all in one console and it was going to have massive TV focus even more than gaming. That's why it had HDMI IN so they could replace the cable box. As I recall they even had a partnership with Comcast early on.
BTW dd you see the Stadia twitter feed yesterday when they had there big Metro announcement? It was funny the first 10 or so replies (from shils) were like &quo...
This is just a product for uninformed customers. The drive in an xbox can be purchased online from AliBaba for around $10, Microsoft probably pays $3-5 for the drive. There is no reason to have a disc less console other than to take advantage of suckers.
This is just Microsoft further trying to push the agenda they started with the xbone of trying to remove ownership from consumers.
The money for them is in the services. If they don't have to make consoles it's all profit.
Look at the x, that thing was a huge investment but by the end of the gen it won't even sell 10 million (probably around 6 million x's have been sold to date) There is no way they made greater profit from sales of the console than cost to develop and manufacture it.
All Microsoft's biggest cards are lined up for a services future the console ...
We'll see... This is the popular thing to say PR wise, but we'll see how things turn out.
If they have another gen like xbone where Sony and Nintendo sell 3 or more times as many consoles I think they will be happy to be just a service on those devices.
I really like the direction this series has taken. It's become a bunch of self contained games with totally different game play from each other that feature the same group of characters. It's a really neat idea and it's always just all about the fun and jokes. Good stuff, it's a shame so few people will give these games a try for what I think are silly reasons.
Before anything can become "realistic" they need to be able to actually render clothes and hair and that seems far off. Unfortunately priority seems to be on (what I think are less important to realism) resolution and ray tracing.
I have always been disappointed that actual physics cards never took off like graphics cards did.
So, are you saying you were wrong when you were closing your previous first party studios and canceling games and saying things like "first party wasn't important because Microsoft didn't want to compete with the 3'rd parties just provide a box for them to put their games on" you were wrong?
Sony and Nintendo kick your ass because they never took games or gamers for granted.
In my experience it's only really xbox fans who have a problem with comparing Switch.
I think it's because when it was just PS4 vs xbox they could pretend like PS4 was a fluke or that xbox wasn't doing bad, but the Switch really highlights that xbox just isn't that popular especially outside of the U.S.
As far as I am concerned as long as you present the data in an properly aligned manner you can compare anything.
