WTF is this shit?

Watching movies in the theater in 3D makes you want it at home.. Right... cuz I always wanted to see Mrs. Doubtfire at home in 3D. If they're only releasing a dozen movies in 3D per year, I'm not going to waste any money on that crap.

Games in 3D? It'll be make or break for me with KZ3.

A big fat disagree from me. I loved my 60gb PS3, and I paid $150 to Sony to get it fixed. Their shitty 90 day warranty afterwards obviously didn't cover anything because the repaired 60gb PS3 tanked again (with the same symptoms + YLOD). Not saying your experience is rubbish, but people reading this thread should read both sides of the argument of Sony's quality control for repairing consoles. I've ended up getting two consoles for each iteration of MS and Sony.

Good point. There are definitely instances where the same developer screwed up on their own sequel. Here are some examples:

1) Deus Ex vs. Deus Ex : Invisible War
2) Many sports games (Madden, etc.)
3) Kingdom Hearts 1 vs 2 (2 had way too many cut scenes, and story started getting too confusing)
4) Crackdown vs Crackdown 2
5) etc.

I see your point though. I'm sure Microsoft won't hang their flagship title development...

Reach is more like 'Empire Strikes Back'? That was my favorite of the Star Wars series.

Dynasty Warriors!! Talk about "milking it". I don't even know how they stay afloat in sales, because my gut feeling tells me it's crap (no pun intended).

I agree. Plus that pre-order bonus t-shirt actually looks pretty dope.

(yes I pre-ordered it on that day)

CEO huh? They're probably trusting him to escalate and keep the share values of the company in the black. Too bad marketing alone doesn't cut it. You may sell some products in the short run, but to truly be a success, you have to sell things over a long time. And to do that, you have to make great games.

"Fix it! "Oh my car is broke I need a new one" That is not the best attitude to have in life. Keep fixing it, everything breaks at some point."

Dude, you're totally right. Everything does break at some point. That being said, if I paid top dollar ($600) for what I thought was top grade hardware, trusted the standard warranty of 1 year, and a year and half later it gets a YLOD moments after a firmware update, I'm pretty pissed. Not to mention the...

These publishers are out to make money. Consumers don't decide the market anymore. Producers do. If it was a consumer's market, XBL would be cheaper/free, PSN would have cross chat, 360 would have blu ray, PS3 would have backwards compatibility (excluding the first versions), Activision wouldn't get away with half the crap they do, and EA wouldn't charge for online play through used games.

All that said, I was disappointed not to see CoD on this list. The ...

I was an early adopter. For $600.. it was money lost. The thing tanked on me twice (YLOD). I have a PS3 Slim now which I'm happier with, but not happy about money spent. I have a PS2 as well, but I really rather not hook up another console and play on a wired controller. Like most here, I'd like to minimize my accessories if possible and not clutter the TV room.

@Chubear: I got sucked into the "a device that can do it all" hype. Don't get me wrong,...

"Sony is not scared of DD because Sony knows it has its place. But Sony also knows that physical media will still rule for years to come, especially with games requiring more and more space as each year goes by.

Sony is ready to go full DD whenever DD is ready to take over. "

Almost all companies make big investments that sometimes fail. Guess what, the Sony Betamax failed, the minidisc failed, their rootkit strategy failed and they're still st...

Offer a shred of evidence or otherwise you're spreading bullshit lies.

It was a business battle they lost. If Sony lost the Blu-ray format, then what? Sony's had its own proprietary formats out before (Betamax, Minidisc, etc). MS will adapt and move on, just like Sony has and will as well. Nintendo seems indifferent don't they?

MP3s took over the music market over CDs. It's a matter of time before digital distribution takes over too video games too. And it'll happen sooner than you think.

I agree a bit. There are some parts of CoD:WaW that I like better than MW2. In fact, I enjoyed the multiplayer better, including zombies. Campaign though, MW2 still delivered.

Halo without Bungie is like CoD without Infinity Ward. How you take that statement is up to you. Nevertheless, their departure leaves big ass shoes to be filled. Doesn't mean it can't be done, but there will be lots of expectations and little room for forgiveness.

Sorry, but the PS3 has been already defined by 2 games and will likely remain that way: Uncharted 2, GOW 3.

Not saying that great games can't co-exist on PS3, but it'll take a miracle to top those 2.

I was simply saying it'd be awesome if the devs and/or microsoft rewarded players more often, and in a more substantial way. I don't want to get paid by devs because I play their game. But you ever heard of repeat business? If I prestige all the way in CoD, and the devs gave me a reward for achieving that prestige (free t-shirt with the prestige emblem) or even 5% off the next CoD, or a beta test ID, or whatever, I'd be more likely to play CoD exclusively. It's smart busin...

I agree half way. There is no reward system in the gaming market anymore. Achievement points mean squat. If you prestige all the way in CoD, they could at least send you a shirt with the emblem, or offer 10% off the next CoD or something.

If you've been on XBL since 2004, then how about a "thanks for the years, the next 3-6 months are on us". Wouldn't that be great for repeat business?
