I didn't think it was short at all. It was longer than ODST, and Halo 3. Heck, might be as long as the Halo 2 campaign.
The only good dev left at Activision is Blizzard. EA at least has Bioware, EA Redwood (Dead Space), Valve, Crytek, DICE, etc (yes I know some of these are publishing deals and not in-house devs).
What does Activision have besides Blizz? And don't tell me the Guitar Hero series. And so far, the only good Treyarch developed (from ground up) game I've seen is Ultimate Spiderman. Everything else seems to be ports and mods.
p.s. E4G needs a spell checke...
Shouldn't the EA exec say that MoH will out do CoD regardless of it does or not? That's just stupid marketing. Saying it'll get dangerously close is not enough confidence in your product.
This is how many anime action games should have been done. Ninja Storm was good but this seems like a big leap in seamless anime fighting. DBZ, Bleach, all those games should pull out a pen and paper, and take some notes.
Heck, I don't think the legendary is worth the price tag of $150. Heck I can buy another game and a 360/PS3 controller. That option would definitely give me more entertainment and functionality. The legendary edition should have been priced to $80 at best (and I'm still hating the fact that games are $60 standard).
I wouldn't have paid 200%+ for the legendary edition. No way would I pay 800%+ because it has signatures. It's just sharpies and swirls folk...
There's a good amount of mystery to be solved. The forerunners for example. Also, the secret ending (legendary difficulty) in Halo 3 reveals MC and Cortana to be still alive. Maybe they'll incorporate the Marathon series (this IP may still be owned by Bungie). If Halo is a universal series, maybe a new flagship hero (a new Spartan) is possible.
f*cking hilarious. Bubbles to you.
a day, way, what can I say, too late.
Hmmn.. I'd have to disagree with this one. There's a plethora of good and long multiplatform games.
Fallout 3
Batman : Arkham Asylum
Red Dead Redemption
Chronicles of Riddick
Prince of Persia (the cell-shaded game)
Oblivion
GTA IV
etc.
Blu-ray is a very nice advantage, but to say that it's "needed" is a bit of an overstatement. And I own lots of Blu-ray movies and games. Heck, isn...
Yeah I realized that, but I didn't want to get too deep because it's not the point I'm trying to make. Like I posted earlier, every company adjusts their business model based on demand, production, security, third-party interests, etc. The only constant driving force is $$$.
I didn't want to send a message of anger towards Sony. I understand that they made statements and investments, and back tracked a bit. MS has done the same, and so has every other ma...
MS said 360 don't need installs, and they're right. You don't have to install a single retail game, you can play them off the disc.
MS said you don't need 1080p? Now that's a lie. Plus they were capable of doing 1080p without HDMI. I was using component cables to run 1080p before HDMI slots came out.
MS said 360 doesn't need Wifi, and they're right. I've been gaming for a very long time and still don't use/need wifi....
I don't agree with every statement made by every company, and this isn't limited to just video games and consoles. But assuming MS wouldn't make a statement like this without a plan to back it up. The same would have applied for Sony or any other large company had they made similar statements (with the exception of Activision). They never said they're sticking with DVD-9. Maybe they're going to sell proprietary memory sticks in the future where if you want to buy a 360...
Don't get me wrong, I love video games pretty much from all genres. But not all video games (including some arcade games) would I consider "art". I'll take a stab at a few:
1) Dominoes, Spades
2) Any simulator game (simulation is not creation)
3) 1 vs 100
4) Hannah Montana's sing along games.
5) Any crappy movie based video game (most of them)
6) Any game that starts with "Cabela's".
"looking to increase revenue making opportunities with the Call of Duty franchise by giving gamers ‘more choice'."
More choice huh? Then it's quite simple. I choose NOT to buy any Activision related products, DLCs, etc.
On a final note, there's a common saying that even the ugliest person in the world isn't bad to look at as long as they smile. Bobby Kotick is the single exception to this rule. Regardless of his pedophile smile, ...
This guy needs to have his organs involuntarily donated after we force him to masturbate for 48 hours straight with a piece of 120 grit sand paper.
Sorry for the graphic verbiage, but just even a photo of this yuppie can escalate my rage.
You're right dude. Most of the stuff I said is subjective, and it's totally fine that we have different opinions. But what review criteria isn't subjective?
Bobby Kotick would like to sell you a disc without the game on it for $10 first. If you're interested, you can pay $50 for the game without cutscenes. If you're dying to know what the cutscenes look like, you can pay an additional $10 to download them. It will have stellar voice acting from the guy who does AFLAC commercials.
If you like the cutscenes, and want to play online, he'd like to charge you a small $9.99 fee per month. The first month would be free...
The space combat portion was definitely cool.. Kind of reminded me of a cross between starfox and shadows of the empire for N64. A multiplayer option for space combat would have been top notch.
"... on the other, 95% of it is the same stuff we've already played - just in a different setting."
By that logic, no game should ever deserve a perfect 10. You can't hit a game for building itself on previous iterations, if the gameplay fits and is executed correctly.
Let's look at Uncharted 2. Many reviews gave it a 10/10. I agree with that. But there's nothing in Uncharted 2 that hasn't been done before through Tomb Raider...
Forza 3, Alan Wake, Fable 2, Halo Reach, Gears of War 2 are not on PC.
